I just got news from a friend of mine that one of the kids that is always down at the dock was in a fatal accident. This happened in GA, I guess he was visiting his Grandparents.

Boy, 8, Killed In ATV Accident
DOUGLAS - An 8-year-old boy was killed near here Saturday when the four-wheel all-terrain vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree, said the Georgia State Patrol.

Tyler O'Steen, 8, was taken by ambulance to Coffee Regional Medical Center where he died of injuries he suffered in the 7:51 p.m. accident, said Joann Lacey, GSP communications officer.
Riding a 2007 Suzuki four-wheeler, O'Steen was westbound on a small path on private property just off the Fitzgerald Highway.
Lacey said because of ruts in the path and its uneven surface, the machine went out of control and struck a tree. The four-wheeler then rotated clockwise and overturned.
The boy was the only person on the vehicle, Lacey said.
Trooper P.R. Kilgore was in charge of the accident investigation.



He was the kind of kid that you couldn't get him off of the dock. He would bug his family non stop to come down to the marina just to go crabbing and screw around. This kid was so full of life, he wan't the type that stays home and plays video games. He was out there getting dirty and having fun with nature.

My prayers go out to his family. I can't even imagine what that would do to me.

Sugar ... Awful... Happens too often. My daughters best friend (15) just tore her legs up on a four wheeler effectively ending a potential modeling carreer...

I dont know you, but that is about the most assinine thing anybody could say after a tragedy like that. I dont think the parents are too blame it doesnt even say for sure he died of head injuries. Dont you remeber when you were an 8 year old boy. I know I was full of piss and vinegar, 8 year old boys are 8 year old boys you do the very best you can and pray to God to handle the rest. Prayers for his family, I hope they make it through intact, events like this have a tendency to rip families apart. I think they have enough to deal with, without some insensitive ass shooting his mouth off, do us a favor and go bury your head in the sand.

my heart goes out to the family, but........should an 8 year old really be givin that sort of responsibility? would you let him drive the car to the food store? i think not. when i was little i wanted a mini bike, when i got older, a motor cycle. i got neither until i was 51. i got a harley. i dont care if i ever ride it but i wanted it. i also understand how dangerous it is. i would never allow an 8 year old son of mine to have one. just like my dad didnt allow me. im glad he didnt know now. i would have killed myself. this is a tragedy............but you cant let an 8 year old son become a man before his time. im sorry to hear of a loss like this, but you cant let 8 year olds become adults before their time. thats why we age them. so you know who the adults are.

As for the little kid riding a fourwheeler I see nothing wrong with it. My whole family rides and my brother and I raced. I settled down and now hes 13 and sponsored. If the right precautions are taken its fine. Fourwheelers and dirtbikes

I am truly sorry for the lost of this young childs life and I send my prayers this family.
