Made in America?
Alright all you manufacturers, importers, attorneys and Government officials as well as us plain ole citizens, here is a question for ya. I have been trying to get the answer and have been thoroghly confused in the process. What does "Made in America" really mean. Also compare that to "Assembled in America". You all know where I'm headed with this right? I'll give you the scenario and you give me your veridcit.
1. I import squids that were designed in China, made in China and imported to the USA. That one is easy - Made in China.
2. I design a squid, send it to China - they manufacture it and send it back - I'm gonna stick with "Made in China" - but its gettin trickier.
3. I buy the squid from china and I buy the terminal tackle from the US. The terminal tackle does not declare where it is made. The squids clearly declare "Made in China" - The spreader bar material (the bar itself) is declared to be made in the USA. So I have a Chinese Squid, Undeclared Terminal tackle and US made bar. Now throw in US labor that assmebles 100% of the End Product. Whats your verdict?
4. Same as above but I designed the squid.
BTW - aside from automobiles, textiles and a few other things I can't remember - the laws are very loose. For some reason those products do have strigent laws.

Answer to Bill's question is yes I would consider your product (bars, chains) made in USA. More than 50% of the total product (bars, chains) is made in USA and assebled in the USA. Yes use the Made In America on those products (bars, chains) and crank the price up for those three words like everyone else does.

It is funny when you plug Mexico in the equation in place of China. We have come to except Mexico...if you are from over seas they think we own Mexico...LOL

How about this
Assembled with Pride in Tyaskin, MD USA by a Paraguayan/American with Chinese parts put together with mostly American Terminal tackle except for the crimps that were poured in Indonisia imported with a stopover in Thailand on a Greek ship
Damn - I think I need bigger packaging.

ok Bill alter your design. Have one tentacle on the mold a 1/4 longer than other and clip with scissors to even them when stuffing the package and then you can say MADE IN MARYLAND USA
