LOWRANCE HDS TRANSDUCERS- TRansom Mount versus Thru Hull

Who uses what transducers for their HDS units.. The out of box lowrance one is not cutting it for us. We mostly fish offshore deepwater, 100+ fathoms looking for tuners....Its a CC setup with outboards. Have been having lots of trouble with surface intereference, and we cannot get a nice clear picture on the top 100 feet or so.. Always have to adjust it when we change directions due to current etc.. Read a couple crash courses on tuning the HDS Sonar, but it still aint working out too well. Not marking anywhere as nicely as I expected.. Believe it has to be the ducer... Looking at some Airmars.. etc.. Thru Hulls compared to the transom mount... Does anyone get their transom mount ducers to produce as well as charter boats bulletproof thru hull ones... where they can see their freaking jigs on the screen...... I Would like to hear what others are using and their feedback.. much appreciated thanks!!!

Turbulence is you enemy when trying to iron out tranny problems. If you have a deep hull, you might have a prayer, but I always advocate thru hull, not shooting through the hull, drilling...air bubbles at the surface is where most interferrence comes from...go deep.....

thru hull's the best,but,if you installed the ducer correctly,and,there's no obstructions ahead of the 'ducer,it should work correctly...
