    Hi Carlos,
I fish in the med. too, and I catch swordfish quite frequently.
My first question would be, how do you fish for them?
Or do you just see them free jumping, and have absolutely no clue how to catch them?
Do you hook them sometimes while fishing for bluefin tuna?

    lots broadbills no bites

    hi maguro,
we spot them while bottom fishing or chumming for bluefin.they show up clearly in our sounders at around 90 meters, they slash any bite and almost never have a clean hook up being mostly caught through their bills or backs which translates many line breaks. we have tried with dead and live bait we no succes. we see msany of them of all sizes and some boats have had up to twenty bites in one morning.greeting.carlos

    Carlos,

Here is my favorite swordfish bait. In this case, it's a giant calamar (squid) tentacle - not too big, so the fish don't slash at them to cut them up, which they will do to a bigger bait. That's how too many swords are missed or foul hooked and lost. I'm sure that pulpo (octopus) would work just as well. Give it a good try. Es muy bueno, amigo.

    Buenas Suerte!
