Looks like the NJ trip is over!!!

My boss here calls me up to her office at 4:30PM yesterday. I go there and she goes, “close the door Mike”….Hummm, this is very awkward, I think to myself. The conversation goes like this

Mike: What’s up?
Boss: Well Mike, your contract has been cancelled effective tomorrow.
Mike: May I ask why?
Boss: Upper management says that the project you’re working on has been re-classified and is no longer a priority.
Mike: Ok, I know this kind of stuff happens. One, question though. Why you pay so much money to get a guy like me in for just 3 three weeks, and all of the sudden change your mind like this.
Boss: Well Mike I really don’t have an answer, I’m just telling you what I was told.
Mike: Ok, I see. No problem then, I’ll pack up and complete what I can until tomorrow PM.
Boss: Ok, and I’m sorry for the short notice.

What pisses me off is that, after putting a move to NJ in 3 days and running around like a headless chicken for 2 weeks trying to get set, this people don’t even have the courtesy nor the decency to tell me in advance what is going on behind the scenes. Hell, I know that shit happens because I’ve been there and done that one too many times. But, hey, come on, at least I have always had the decency and the courtesy of keeping people informed so the have time to react and put their act together. Anyways, I guess that is just one of the many things happening around due to the country’s situation.

I think I’ll be flying home at some point next week. Meanwhile, I’m free to do anything, so bring it on for the weekend and next week NJ guys and gals.

Well home is really in Puerto Rico. Here I'm in Somerset, NJ. I do validation (process, equipment, facilities, utilities, etc). also, technology and product transfer, process developement, troubleshooting, investigations, and that kind of work. all pharmaceutical!
