looking for an old british sports car

Here's what I know about the cars, they look nice sitting on top of snow banks, me and three buddies used to pick our friends up and perch it on a snow bankMGB and Triumph. As for collecting, as you know, you gotta check them out, people know every trick in the book to hide problems.......and they uussee them....

trust me,not to ring my own bell here,but...i know what i'm looking at,and i'm more than qualified to work on these old british cars...i've seen it all,and nothing shocks me any more,again,trust me on this one...the best was,after driving 700miles one way to see this tr3,inspecting the frame and undercarrage,i pointed out a set of vise grips still atached to a bolt,the bolt was a seat bolt-i had to show them to the owner of the car...the car was described to me as "restored end to end" "there's a small area of orange peel in the paint,header panel above the right head light"...the truth was,the paint work was terrible,it looked as if ray charles painted it.there wa a reaction to the paint,the paint was wrinkled up,on the header panel,the bonnet-both of which were clearly a different color than the vehicle,the boot(trunk) was also affected by whatever the reaction was,also a different shade...again,trust me,i need o one to look at something for me,and i appriciate the advice,however,the advice isn't needed...

here's another one for you guys...i need someone to explain this to me too...

we're on the way home,in virginia,we stop and fire up the lap top at a coffe place,punch up a TR6 we were looking at in maryland-penelope spoke to the owner,he claimed he was in need of the money,had his hrs cut at work-blah blah blah...we get on the road,and call the cat...guess what ??? this cat's at work,a few miles from the vehicle,his wife's home,no key for the vehicle,and he won't be available till after 6pm,it was 3:330 ??? think about this for a second...we're on our way home,told him that,we had an empty trailer,told him that too...and this cat blows it off ??? what a frickin' jack ass...we had more than enough cash,as in count it out,to pay for his vehicle...people amaze me...??? last time i checked,no one is beating a path to anyone's door to purchase anything,yes ????

I guess it's kind of like when you sell your boat, you know you should, you really don't want to, so if it works out alright, if not all the better....
