Not an expert myself just started using em but heres one use.
I used 200# momoi windons yesterday for shark. Allowed us to reel the 6' of single strand wire up to the rod tip. Nicer than cable, nothing flopping around to tangle up in.
Also 25' of 200# puts heavy line on the reel when the shark is at the boat for more control.
Be prepared to change out the windons as they get a little chaffed fighing the shark.

So the windons are for adding the heavier line to your lighter line on the reel to allow the leader man to fight the fish?

Sounds like it allows you to keep more line on the reel with say 50lb line and then add heavier line 200lb to the top for fighting the fish? Is this an accurate assessment?

No,so you can reel the fish to the rod tip without a wire man, say your short handed just you and a mate one fights the fish in the other cuts it loose or poons/garfs/tail ropes it.

    Yea, What he said.
Eliminates 10-12' of cable flopping around
and possibly tangling someone at boat side.

looks good austin, not bad for a first one. Like I told you online, zap-a-gap that serve and it will be good. also, once you are ready to start whipping the serve, make sure you really snug that JB down to the mono. I can see some slack in it, that will make the mono want to slip a little. otherwise, pretty damn good job. way better than my first windons. and Big loops are your friend when storing them. think dinner plate size. my windons fill up the big zip-lock freezer bags when in storage

    great job!....

Now tie up 29 more ......and then you can go fishing!!! If you ever get a chance Top Shot has a needle kit for all sizes of line. zap glue also works well with tuna feathers when someone falls asleep ... while they are snoreing ...one drop on the feather... stick it to thier finger nail or toenail and repeat till all finger and toe nails are covered! ... wind - ons are safe and get your fish close to the boat with added confidence of a larger leader on the reel spool at the boat. also your friends are not all tangled up in leader... and saves lots of money on replacing long leaders. the short line or wire end shots to the lures, hooks are easy to store also .
