    Locked Up!

My drag locked up on the last of my Shitmano spinning reels today...
I've enjoyed it for so long I hate to lose it....but sadly it just ain't the same.
I think any brand will eventually have the same problem....perhaps I should just go back to handline fishing? I just don't know if the pleasures of modern technology outweigh the pain sometimes....WHAT A PAIN A LOCKED UP DRAG CAN BE!

Tip of the day: If your not an elf, don't take offense to the jokes about pointy shoes with curled up ends.

Spin drags are easy rebuild... Take knob off and then spool. Theres a retaining ring at the top that holds the washers in place... Take it off and dump washers into your hand... Seperate clean lube and put them back in in same order as you took em out... Put retaining ring back in... spool on, knob on, adjust and good to go... Takes only couple minutes and isn't brain surgery...

I'll prob switch to a baitcaster for a while, seems like my ole trusty spinner keeps breaking as well. What's a man supposed to do if all he knows is how to flip a bail. Just trying to keep my head up above the waterline.

Second hand exposure to Pterois venom could be the culprit as well...
and yes.....a little simple maintenance may have prevented the rest of the reel from functioning poorly and making loud useless noises.
