Personally it was nice to see a new face on the republican side last night. This was a shot across the bow of the democrats. The republicans want them to Know that they are changing the party and trying to energize the base. This was a speech showing the undecided voters for the November elections what the republican will be stumping on. Didn't you notice all the younger people watching on during the speech? Good speaker way better than Obama,good location and good content. They are setting the tone.......Mark

For many folks their taxes did get cut by things like credit for college expenses for their children and more.

Ok counselor... I guess on a technical you got me. They don't call them taxes, they're "fees".
I used to get a break on being self employed and my small business. Not there in this years tax kit... Lot of deductions not there that were. Didn't go up... Just repealed the break. Licenses went way up and they added a few to what I need, but I guess we can again call them fees and not the tax they really are.
State and county level I got hammered... $35 registration now a c-note. Occ licenses doubled, property tax way up (they re-assess to get around the cap there).

Bottom line was made slightly less and did wind up paying more.

I used to be able to write off a lot of the Fed license fees that I can no longer... My fed license fees went up. way up. They also added that damnable TWIC, a dolphin wahoo license for me and each of my boats. Customs decal fee went up. Not new to this year alone however. All along things have been going up. Coast guard captains license renewals used to be free not any more. That was done in the Clinton years. Hell I used to have public health care but Uncle Ronnie did away with that, so it's not just the dems...
There are other allowances this year smaller than last. Couldn't write off summer camp for my daughter. The tuition thing hasn't kicked yet but I paid her full four years in advance so I won't get a break there...
Notified by my trust company that less of my estate is exempt and death tax did go up from 50 to 55%. They get paid by what amount they oversee so they would want me to save save save. Instead their advice is spend, give, get rid of it cause "it's" commin.
Then we get to my foreign holdings. ... My Bahamian accounts got shelled for the first time. How can our government lay claim to money I didn't make here in this country? They're even trying for holdings my wife has in South Africa that she had through family before we got married (No she is not even a US citizen).

Cuts? I heard a long list last night then came to find later that they are simply proposals... I had no cuts... No real increases except as stated above... He in one year doubled or trippled the hole we are in sombody's gonna pay for it who do you think thats gonna be? Santee Claus?

i'm still trying to figure out how a tax cut for all us small business owners is going to help we can't raise wages or hire new workers when the needs nor demand are there. oh boy it's gonna be a long 3 more years. but i guess coming from a guy who has never really worked a true job what can you expect. hell he's still campaining news flash you won unfortunatly jackass.
