My brother was a Futures Trader with Prudential Securities, specializing in the Asian market. He managed the overnight desk and had stayed at the office til a little before 9 that morn. He was walking to the WTC to catch the train back to his house in Hoboken NJ when the first plane hit.
He saw the second plane hit.
We didn't hear from him until 10:00 PM that nite; we tried to contact him all day long, with no success. We feared the worst. Then the phone rang and his cell phone number displayed on the caller ID. We thanked God and breathed a collective sigh of relief.
Til this day, he said he still thinks about seeing that jet going into the WTC. And about his best friend and mentor, Pete Ortale, who perished that day.
