    led lights

Anyone have any experience with which led's to use for lighting up a fly bridge. I've seen them on the big boys in the tounaments. Just wondering which are the best for that application.

You may want to try the tower manufactuers, they would know.

    LED

Mine are from Daniel R Smith in Riviera Bch Florida. Kind of pricey 1.5 years ago but seem to be high quality. There seems to be a ton of new LED products being developed and the prices keep dropping also. Just make sure that the light output is bright enough for your needs as the first fixtures I installed just didn't have very much output.

I second the Daniel R. Smith recommendation. They have a wide range of lighting and electrical items. Doug Ortlip is the NE Regional Sales Rep. PM me and I will put you in contact with him. Or check out www.drsa.com.

    Guys-

My interior lights are made by Vimar and distributed through DRSA. Their customer service is great!

Do either of you know the specific models you have installed.....FYI, I have a DRSA catalog if you can point me to the exact page and/or model number.

    Thanks!

never had to deal with installation or dealers, but I can tell you while blue might look cooler, I would take a red LED for night running over the blue. easier on the eyes (mine at least)

    JD:

I would recommend DRSA's Monserrat line for installations in bridge hardtops or electronics boxes. The Monserrats are about 2.5" and are available in a tri-color LED option which is very cool. White, red and blue lighting all in one unit. Get the optional control unit and you can dim the lights and/or set them to a random flashing mode (dock lizards love it). All of this can be controlled by one rocker switch for up to 32 lights. If you prefer a larger light fixture look at the Antigua line - same thing just larger diameter.

DRSA is also introducing a new line at the upcoming IBEX show in Miami. The Iluci line will also feature high output LEDs that are dimmable, etc. but will be available in a 7 color model. Very cool.

Feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.

    Paul-

Thanks for the recommendation.... I am in the market to replace my standard incandescent white/red bridge light. I may go with three of the Monserrat's with the control module.....

Andy - The new Iluci line from DRSA is a 7 color LED which includes green - which would look awesome on Sea Splendour! This what I am going with for our boat. I spoke with DRSA today and they are sending me the new catalog. The big premire is planned for the IBEX show in a few weeks but they may have some available before then.

I'll bring what I have this weekend and we can discuss over a few crushes.
