Lets discuss why lay day forms are important. If you don't get them turned in on time. They consider you fishing that day even if you arent. Thats one day of fishing whizzed out the window and yes it is common as fleas on a dogs stern that guys forget to do it...
So in other words say your at a 4 day event you can only fish 3? Deep I know you gotta know what are the pound ranges for the drags on the aforementioned reels?
Free to Full ? Zero to lockup ?
Depending on the reel make and model some drags are better than others. I usually set strike at 20-25% of line class.
With a lever drag you can easily go past if needed.
What are you looking for here ? maximum drag a reel can be tightened to or optimum drag for line class ?i
Sorry tried to add this but got timed out.
Each tournament can have diferent rules for days fished.
IE: OC shark 2 out of 3.
Allows anglers to choose the best 2 out of three days
to fish.
Cape May shark, Fish Fri, Sat with a possible sunday if
commitee boats call a weather day on fri or sat.
You need to check the tournament rules to know when you can fish.
The bartenders at Teasers in Sunset Marina have these great shirts they wear during big tournaments. "Drink up, tomorrow is a lay day" Usually worn when the weather is looking particularly nasty. I love them. Sort of says it all.
