Live pogie on a live bait rig with/ without a duster skirt as a teaser. Slow troll it at 1.5 knots over or near structure (Hutton, Suloide, Indra, shipping channel...). If that seems like too much work, try a drone spoon at 3.5-5 knots. Make sure you use a good ball bearing swivel to minimize line twist.

Oh, by the way, if you use a duster skirt, make sure it's a Smokers Only duster by Cape Lookout.

Ditto on Reel Fanatics comment. for a big king add an extra treble to live bait rig and hook a blue fish on it .

Use big live bait--Pogies, Mullet, Bluefish, and we've been catchin some smokers this year on 14 to 18 inch Spanish.

Work the water column also, a couple baits on top and couple on downriggers.

Mix these ingredients over some live bottom and you will catch some kings!!
