    Kinda about fishin

Trying to catch some minnows in the begining of the season, I put a pot off the dock here with some cracked crab in it. No Minnows. Lots of eels.
Some nice big eels. If the words "nice" and "eels" can be used together.
I've been threatinin to eat some of these dam eels in a couple threads here on SFC. Each time I chicken out when I go to clean em. Slimy beasties. This time I'm determined to smoke those slimy snakes and see how it turns out.
    SO.
Got some nice bluefish from Cap't Terry to use as shark bait and he brought a nice trout over. Ate the trout, Delicious, thanks Terry, and put the carcass in the pot with some more cracked crab to get enough eels to make firein the smoker up worth it.
Got a pot full of Minnows. Can ya smoke minnows ?

Guess if I expect to catch shark, I gotta go out for flounder.

Smoked minnows will go great on a pizza - just like anchovy.

While you are contemplating eating bait get it all over with at one shot. Go grab some squid, mullet, bunker, ballyhoo, sardines, butterfish, smelts, shrimp, clams, boston macks, killies, eels, green crabs, sand fleas, welks, pinfish, gogs, chicken necks, potatoes, sausage, corn on the cob, string beans, and okra. Throw it all in a huge pot fill with water and beer. Dump a big load of zatarans in it and boil it up. Dump it out on the picknic table. Grab a case of cold long necks and have at it.

    Sounds delicious.
Maybe after I work up the stones to take on these eels I'll add the others one at a time. Gotta take new culinary treats slow.

I like them in a sushi bar. Figure I'll try it and see if I can come close.
