Another day waiting on this fuel pump is making me nuts. I went down to my little boat on this crisp cool bluebird day. I lit her up to charge the batteries and clean her. Like an idiot I turned on the radio and it was alive. Macks here, and oodles of sails there. I'm stuck at the dock, too late to get live bait and no tackle along anyhow. Arggggggh! I'm going nucking futs!

who the hell do you use for repairs??? A 54 bert in my marina had BOTH engines done....the crew was in and out in 5 days. You have been down for months. Fire the idiot and hire someone that has a vague idea of how to fix diesels.

First problem is that virtually no mechanics will touch these little beasts. I did fire one. We have a way bad shortage of mechanics any way. So finding another was a hell ride.Then the long block maker fought for a month about not covering warranty. Then he took another month to send the replacement. By then this mechanic had another repower to do. A hurricane in there set that back by a few weeks. Got this engine running last week only to find that when the other puked, it set the fuel pump internal timing out of calibration. Fuel pump shop is behind a few days. If they finish it today, I could be back in the water tomorrow afternoon... Its testing my sobriety for sure.
My guess is the second I have my self caught up and get some green banked that a set of cummins is going in. Yanmar or Volvo is just out of my league expensive...

I don;t know man, those Yanmars are really sweet!!! Been meaning to ask you, where did you where you got that spelling of compleat? Does it have to do with the old fishing Villa at Cabo Blanco?
