Kauai shore fishing questions

Hi everybody, new to the forum, anyone have any suggestions on shore fishing around Poipu? Tackle, location, technique, anything is welcome. thanks!

The only people I saw fishing there had a spear and snorkel gear. They had some nice size fish and a couple of octopus. (octopi?)

I used to cast topwater poppers in Anahola for Uluas with pretty good success or with cut opelu on the bottom. I never fished much around Poipu. Too many snorkelers and tourists swimming the reefs. Try the other side of the marina seawalls in Port Allen also.
