That Just Tears It For Me...Remains of 274 Servicemen Sent to Landfill. Emblematic of How We Really Feel About Them

You're read and heard of this. Disgraceful!

But it goes deeper than that. Disposing of even partial remains of American servicemen like they were garbage is a perfect example of how disposable the U.S. citizenry actually feels about their "heros".

We lie to them about patriotism and defense of the country and then send them on wars about geostrategic control of other countries and their resources.

We patronize them about how valued their lives and futures are and then let payroll f uck up their pay so their families end up on welfare due to some damned idiot clerk somewhere drunk on the job (happened to me).

We tell them they're warriors and quite literally transform them into crazed killing machines instead of the citizen soldiers who were in the past capable of actually returning to "the world" and playing a constructive role in our society afterwards.

We use them up like tissue paper on the battlefield so some jerkwad officer can get promoted one day to a troop-hating General in the mold of Patton.

We bring them home after they lose all the impossible wars we send them into and leave them homeless on the streets so 1% of the population can live the high life.

We inculcate them into a martial tradition from the first 4th of July by telling them how patriotic and honorable military men and women are only to feed them, their futures and the futures of their families into a veritable mulcher for their simplistic acceptance of those lies.

When wounded in large numbers either physically or mentally, we cut their Veteran Administration benefits so they are presented with the most archane and deadly health system in America.

AND NOW WHEN THEY COME HOME IN PIECES AND WE CAN'T READILY IDENTIFY TO WHICH HAPLESS SERVICE MEMBER THE PIECES BELONG WE JUST FLUSH THEIR REMAINS DOWN THE DRAIN OR THROW THEM IN THE F*CKING TRASH.

To add insult to injury, the Air Force has decided not to tell those families whose son's and daughter's remains were TRASHED that it was their son or daughter who was treated with such villany.

If anyone of you god-fearing, militant, conservative jerks don't write your representatives and senators on this one in bloody screaming terms demanding the head of the Air Force you will betray all that you SAY you stand for. JUST DO IT!

Or, you could not and let me show you up AGAIN. My letters went out certified mail yesterday.

I was careful in responding you, in particular, Avenger to select a news source you would actually believe; FOX news:

Now, how about living up to your moniker and spank the devil out of your representatives about this.

Have you ever thought about Professional Help? You seem to have some real issues of your own . Rant seems to be about your own pissed off life . Or service time? I would have to read a link with all this other info in and form my own opinion on your latter rant.

What In THe Hell Just Happened?????,

LongFisher and I agree (well for the most part) on something. LongFisher I would like something to back up what you posted, with no wiggle room what-so-ever. Many or (most of what) you posted has happened to me personally. That's why I still have a severe distain for most "officer" type's. I was injured (life long injury), but because the operation went bad and would shed a bad light on my CO, the record's disappeared. The helo flight to the hospital and the 11 day's spent there, never happened. Not to mention, the VA won't stand behind me, because "I" don't have the "proof". I wasn't aware that I needed copy's of day to day afair's. All medical record's are gone, burned up in a fire I'm told. I still have the news paper article's to back up the operation in question, I also still have the busted up back some 31 odd year's later. Funny thing is alot of my record is gone, but up until a couple year's ago, I was still recieving "come on" offer's from other Govt's. So in my opinion there is a data base out there "somewhere". One of my computer oriented kid's had some freind's over and they did some poking around, what they dug up explain's why I get "special" treatment everytime I check in for a flight.

I have guy's that I know that are dear to me, who are still in the business. My advice to them in no uncertain term's is document everything. With today's computer's, it's way easier for them to look out for themselve's.

Call me a fool in what follow's if you must. In the end I wouldn't change a thing. That day by putting myself in harm's way, 3 men went home to their family unscaithed. The guy's that I know who are in the same game, have no illusion's of why they are there and training to do what they do. They do it for the guy next to them, they do it for their family's and loved one's. It has not one thing to do with who is President, not one thing to do with a CO who happen's to be in an secure position far from harm. It has to do with the loyalty of their Brother's. For those who were/are as dis-illusioned as I am, I know their heart's and I am thankful for each and everyone of them. Someone has to stand at the "gate", they know it, I know it and you know it.

If what you are posting is FACT, then yes I am in your court on this one. The motto of "no man left behind", should not stop until each and everyone of them are buried with the HONOR they deserve. I also believe that any Veteran, oughta get the same benifit's that Congress member's get. It's a screwed up system we have here, when it comes to this in particular. Frank

It In No Way Is How "WE" Feel About Them,

What happened was no decsion by the Citizen's of the Country. It had to do with the one's that make descion's "for" us. LongFisher, I for one am extremely happy about the way our Vet's are welcomed home now-a-day's. I would dare say it's alot different, than when you got home. During our time, you didn't see folk's buying their meal's in resteraunt's or in the air port. I recall one drunk old timer, thanking me for my service back then. The vast majority of our citizenery, have no idea what it's like to sign that little piece of paper. I have told folk's that the most valuable thing I ever recieved while being "off", was a perfumed letter from my now wife. I generally just get blank stare's about that, "they" just have no idea. Firstly, why are so many of you asking for proof after I already posted a link to the very news source so many of you seem to believe can do no wrong, FOX news? It's out there everywhere. You do know how to use Google, right?

If not, here's a hint. Type this into the address bar at the top of your browser: www.google.com. Then type in just the terms "landfill 274 military". Even you fools can do that can't you?

Secondly, there's not that much agreement between you and I as you seem to believe, Frank. And, I absolutely disagree with the above post that the "citizens" don't feel that way about them.

There's never been a war that the U.S. waged but perhaps the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 AND MAYBE JUST MAYBE THE FIRST FEW MONTHS OF THE AFGHANISTAN WAR that the government didn't lie about the circumstances to hide their agenda and that the "citizens", like you Frank, didn't sanction with silence, acquiescense and even later with their continuing voter support of the very liars who sent and send our kids to die for nothing but lies.

There's great evil when otherwise well-intentioned men like you, Frank, stick their heads in the sand and say nothing when they know of the lies or don't go to the trouble to apply common sense to what they're being told so as to expose those lies, if but to themselves. Your inactions cause these things as directly as if you told the lies yourself.

I once looked up how few Americans served throughout American history.

Only 5% ever served in any of the U.S. armed forces including the Coast Guard and the Reserves. Of those, only 25 - 30% served in combat arms. Fewer still, served during any period of active combat.

And, you wonder why so few of you know or care about the remains of 274 of them be thrown in the trash? I don't. Precious few of you ever had any skin in the game so it's no big deal to you how it's played. It's a big deal to me.

And, you lot are the loud, unduely proud and lightly-endowed self-appointed guardians of the troops. What a laugh.

LongFisher Once gain You Jumped The Gun,

And lumped EVERYONE in the same pile. The fact of the matter is, I was typing my reply to you before the link came up. I still have to hunt and peck, so it takes awhile. I DO NOT WATCH FOX NEWS, I form my own opinion's without the help of the slanted media. I don't spend time surfing the web either, I just happen to be at the shop working on my own boat for a change. I guess it's only natural these day's to think everyone else is at a desk connected to the web. Or maybe have one of those phones or tablet's that keep's you in contact with the other 100,000 of your closest friend's. Sorry I'm not one of those guy's. I wasn't trying to flatter you, just thought it odd that we had a subject to agree on. Well, so much for good intention's. Now back to your agenda! Hug's and Kisses, Frank

This story of the 274 troops' remains follows on the heels of months of reporting about mismanagement of remains by the Washington Post, in particular. But AP picked up the story almost from the beginning and it was all over the airwaves, print media, online media and even on cable news channels the names of which didn't start with F.

    You probably recall...

Nope, you're so in the ozone that I shouldn't even presume you recall about the mismanagement of remains buried at Arlington about two months ago. If not, you surely don't recall the original stories about only a handful of troops remains ending up in the trash that surfaced perhaps a week to 10 days ago. THIS IS A FOLLOW ON STORY OF THE SAME INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING...NOT THE ORIGINAL.

It's unbelievable and, frankly (to use a pun), unforgivable that you Frank hadn't heard of this before. But if it's true that you've not heard of this yet it certainly bolsters my position that you and slew of others on this board don't give two craps about the troops, despite your self-assumed mantles of defenders of all that's Holy in America.

    You're pompous frauds, that's all.

Now, regarding lumping all of you together, I hereby issue my now standard and I thought implicit disclaimer that my comments don't necessarily apply to Marine, BFB, Zummie, S&B and winsnetout or whatever his moniker is. Please excuse me if I've inadvertently left a few others out of this listing who also have retained a bit of reason and who on occassion question and sometimes severely question what's fed to them by the conservative media, despite being Republicans.
