Just One Reason I Know It's True,

Commercial fishing for many year's taught me what it's like to not have enough cash around pretty often. When fishing was slack I'd get my tool's or welding bag together and hit the road, where ever the work was. The following is a true story, for those that care to read it.
One very hard year found me broke with 3 kid's and my wife to take care of, so off working out of State I was headed. Before I left I needed to get some meat for the freezer. I only had 3 bullet's left to my name and no mean's to get any more. So this afternoon had to count!!! Behind the house I go into one of my favorite tree's that border's a several hundred acre field planted in winter wheat. Man that stuff is pretty, just as green as it get's, in the middle of the winter!
As I'm sitting in the tree, there is absolutely nothing moving and I'm running out of time. I close my eye's and send up a prayer to the Man Himself, "Lord my family really need's the meat, You know I'm leaving in the morning. A nice fat doe would be great, but a big healthy buck would be even better". When I opened my eye's, just as asked a big bodied 5 pointer was standing no more than 50 yard's straight in front of me. There wasn't a critter of any kind just moment's before. I'm a "believer", but even I was shocked. Before you ask, no I didn't fall asleep it was just a quick earnest prayer. I shot one time, the deer ran and fell dead right at the base of the tree I was in! I mean literally right at my feet!!!That one deer was big enough for my family to eat well while I was gone and could come home with some cash.
I know there's alot of doubt out there, if there is a God or not. Well I for one will tell you in no hesitation, that yes there is! I was a mocker and doubter for most of my life myself. I will put my past up against anyone's. No I'm not proud of alot that I have done and have quite abit to answer for when my time comes. But this I know is true, no man walk's alone unless he decides to himself. My favorite Bible verse is Roman's 5:8, kinda say's it all for me. The debt's paid, nothing you can do to earn it. Love is a very hard thing for me to understand. I at many times still don't get it.
This is just one of very many thing's I've seen for myself. Something's you have to "Believe before you can see". An early Merry Christmas to all. Frank, Sea Power

    Nice post Frank,
I recently had something happen that reinforced my sometimes doubtful mind about the guy upstairs.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Very Nice read Frank. You don't have to convince me that there is a God. My Daughter is living proof. God told my wife to pray for divine protection one Saturday nite and she she obeyed. Little did we know that at 4:30 am the next morning she fell asleep and flipped a volkswagen 6 times off Wade Ave. The only glass left in the car was some of the windshield in front of her face and the only lights were the tail lights and they were flashing so a passing car could see them at 6 am since the car was hidden off the road. God took care of our daughter that day.

    Merry Christmas Frank.

    Nice Story, Frank.

I'm not a believer. But I could change my mind if you'd do me a favor as you seem to have a connection to the big guy.

Close your eyes and imagine for a moment Obama being re-elected for a second term. Then please and on my behalf pray your head off for a successful challenger in the primary process so that he doesn't even get nominated by his own party to run in the 2012 election.

    He deserves the humiliation.

    Scattered Grass-----
that fact that it does not hurt when you pee now I don't think counts as divine intervention -----but more of a miracle of modern medicine... (Just kidding...)

    Seapower--Nice story.
In my college years--thinking myself educated beyond my years--often doubted/wondered about the guy upstairs. Now, with a two year old daughter who has had 3 heart surgeries before her 2nd birthday, and was told be doctors that she may never walk (correctly), may never talk (correctly) and may have brain damage (due to loss of oxygen when she basically died a day after she was born) and should be tube fed--not eat a like a regular person---I really was doubting. After spending quite some time in and out of the Children's Hospital--I re-learned and confirmed my beliefs in the man upstairs. Needless to say there has been quite a few of those little prayers in our house.
As of last night when I came home from work--my little 2.5 year old girl (who we were told may not walk on her own)--runs to the front door to meet me, and as we sit down to eat our chicken and pasta dinner (docs said she should be tube fed ) my little girl asks me clear as day (docs said she may not talk) "how was your day daddy?" and as far as the brain issues---well at 2.5 she is on par or above, counts to 20, knows her colors, knows the entire alphabet, and after dinner she read to me (or recited from memory) her "Goodnight Moon" book word for word.

    Merry Christmas.

    Very nice Frank...

I enjoyed the story and like SG I have had some experiences that are just unexplainable unless you allow yourself to believe. Merry Christmas and I hope to get together with you at Ace's soon.
