    Is It Just Me?????,

I 100% detest the lottery system they have enacted in NC. What see everytime I stop in to get fuel or gas, is the regular run-of-the-mill welfare recipient type's cashing in my tax dollar's (yes black and white). What I see is a collective group of people hoping to hit it big, living the dream and not having to work for it. Just for the record, if I know that a service station sell's lottery ticket's, I will not stop. I almost forgot, somewhere in the middle of going through all their ticket's, they remember that they need a pack of Cool Light's or some Colt 45. Then I get the privelidge of waiting just a little longer before I can get back into my truck and get back to work. Yes get back to work so that I am able to keep feeding them!
Here's a thought, how about taking the money (in most cases MY money) you're either betting, smoking or pissing away......... save it and build your own business. You know "invest" in yourself!!! I mean how hard of a concept is that?????? If you can afford to waste it, you don't need it!!!!! One other thing, if I had my way every recipient of public money (whatever the brand) should have an ID issued. Those that are in the "issued" system would not be allowed to buy lottery ticket's. And yes that mean's if you happened to hit the "Power Ball" you couldn't collect one red cent. Stop being soooooooooo friggin lazy and start helping yourself. Frank

I don't see much difference in that and people buying food with WIC, then going out and getting into a 7-Series BMW...

I can't afford a 7-Series Beemer, and frankly wouldn't drive it if someone gave it too me, but damn - My tax dollars sure seem to be buying beemers...

Work.....for a living! Oh no no no. o.b.a.m.a care will help us all!
I agree 100% with you Frank. I take great pride in teaching my children what it means to earn the things you want. My twelve year old daughter wanted a ipod recently. Guess what she had to work for it. She hated it at first but when she "earned" it she felt good about herself and what she accomplished while doing so. I hate to say that this value passed on from generation to generation is almost extinct. Their are too many people looking for the free ride on easy street.

    Preach it Brother

I hear ya Frank, gets my goat too. I also appreciate the idea of making your kid earn the I-pod. We made our 12 year old daughter earn her I-pad. It took her 8 months to save up for it and when she handed the cash over for it she was truly proud of what she earned. She won't even let me use the thing scared I'm gonna break it she says. But she still has to give way to the mandatory Daddy scan of what she has been looking at it on the web.

No, it's not just you.....my advice though....go to a Full service gas station, then at least you don't have to see it....I learned it at an early age, back in 1970, on my way to my first real job, driving a 1961 VW bug to Boston from Littleton...passing over the Concord River, there was a line up of black Caddys. I thought the local mafia was making a body dump, but no, it was the welfare recipients from Roxbury, heading out for a nice day of fishing.....Oh well......not much has changed in these last 40 years...Caddys to Beemers is all.....just saying....

My grandfater worked until he was 81 years old....between us I think it was because he wants to strangle my grandmother....I watched my father work 70 hr weeks for 15 years to provide for our family.....I work 6 days a week, when were real busy sometimes 7......I was taught at an early age that if I wanted it I had to work for it and earn it...Now I know not everyone on govt assistance abuses the system.....but it twists my short and curlys when they are eating better than I am, playing the scratch offs and just pissing that money away.....the entire time getting further in debt while we pay for their habbits and their utilities.....it needs to stop!
