Wow I just got busted. Someone called the County on me and said my boat was parked in the grass. Yes it was and I know it's wrong but WOW. Somebody needs to get a life. They will be comming back to do an inspection on Oct 4th to see If it has been corrected. I have a side yard that I own but can't build on it. It's also not accessable from the road. I just built a 16' bridge spanning the drainage ditch so I can access it to park my boat. It must be on a hard surface, IE stone, crush and run, blacktop, ect... 300.00 for the lumber and I have'nt even started with the stone. Any Ideas I havent thought about? Has anyone else had any problems? I'll send a picture of the bridge tomorrow. Also, Thanks for the email birthday wish. I am 39 today. SP.Com R O C K S ! ! !
That happened to me a few times by the local ordinance guy. I told him to go f himself or I will just pave over the grass. Also another time caught him in my backyard taking pictures. Told him to get out or I would charge him with tresspassing. That was 6 years ago and I haven't seen him since. I now have 3 unregistered trailers on the lawn in the back and am just hoping he comes back. Stick to your guns and find out what the law is in your town.
If you look at current Avatar you will notice that the boat is parked next to my driveway with one wheel on the blacktop. I called the county to ask questions about what I could do and what was legal. They told me as of now, parking of your boat in the driveway is legal. Darn, I guess I will have to move it 6 feet to the right. Here is a pic of the bridge I built. I plan on a stone driveway alongside the evergreens. When I asked who called in the complaint, they wouldn't tell me. Imagine that....
Man all I can say is I could not live somewhere that told me what I can and Cant do. I personally would go out and buy 2 bags of asphalt at home depot. I would put a 2 by 2 patch down for each tire and a 2 by 2 patch for the jack stand. But put this all ontop of plywood so you can more your asphalt patches around. The say i dont knwo what you mean the boat is parked on a hard surface and see what you get from there.
Does anyone know the coverage of a ton of stone??? I only want to cover the grass. I'm not digging anything up. I will probably spray to kill grass and dump stone. By the way, this is a non-deed restricted development. Could you imagine if it wasn't. My wife and I wanted to move and I think this just pushed me over the edge. And to top it off, someone had to call it in that lives arround me. The county said that they don't have the funds to just ride arround and find violations. If you stand on my deck and look at the neighbors, I see two boats and a pair of Jet skis parked in the grass.
