Well I just signed up here and it looks like a good group. I have a few trips planned, one in less than 2 weeks. A 4 day off San Diego for the Tuna, I will be sure to post the report and photos. If you would like to see any of my trips in from the past you can check out my Blog,

Welcome to a great sport, the Legend is a great boat. As for tips, listen to the crew, keep moving on the rail, don't stand in the corner and change your bait often. Bait does not cost anymore so keep changing it. Have someone help you cast out the bait if you haven't got the casting down yet. Getting out off the back is important. Use 20# and 30# line and a good 7ft rod. Have fun and let me know how you do. Check out my site for reports on some of my old trips, I do 1 1/2 day trips up to 11 day trips. I go out 3 -4 times a year.

    Good Luck,

    CoolTuna

    Thanks for the tips.

I had a fun but interesting time on my trip. There were roughly 30-32 anglers and at times it seemed like we were all occupying the same space. Lots of lines got tangled and lots of fish were lost. The Captain had to basically "manage" the anglers in order to try sort everyone out. It was crazy but fun. I tried my best move along the rail and keep my line in front of me but I admit that I might have caused one of the many tie ups that occured on the trip.

I did learn a lot though and I will definately go again.

I did manage to catch 3 fish. 2 Yelowtails and 1 really nice Dorado

    Here is a pic:
