Here is a trick I use, it has worked three out of the four times I've been called. I walk in with a smiling face, say good morning and exchange pleasantries with the guy or gal, bring a Want Ad and sit down. After a short time when the room is full, the guy or gal comes out to the room and says "can Bill Schmidt please stand up?" I stand up and the guy or gal says "Mr. Schmidt you can go home now, you're the only one that said Good Morning to me." On the one time I wasn't excused early, I learned that it is a cross section of the jury that places you in the pool you're in. That cross section is what causes defendents to settle out of court. Only 5% of defendents make it to the judge, the rest chicken out because they don't want to fase the "cross section."
