    I've Got Alot To Learn,

I ran into Miss Glenda today, of course she had a great big smile on her face. I asked "how ya doin Miss Glenda"? Her reply was something like "oh honey I'm doing great, praise God". We tossed conversation back and forth for a few minute's. She was tickled to death just talking with me. Her big beaming smile, bright sparkling eye's, not a negative word about anything, just like usual for her. After awhile I told her I gotta get back work, it's been nice seeing you again.
It wasn't till about an hour later in the bottom of a boat. I got to thinkin', have I ever seen Miss Glenda without a great big smile and chipper??? Well no, I can't remember ever seeing her any different than she was today.
You see Miss Glenda is wheel chair bound, has been as long as know. She got Polio, CP or some other desease when she was younger. She really can't do anything for herself any more, I mean nothing! She has to be picked up to and from the bed, same for the bathroom, same when she get's a chance to go for a ride around town. If she want's something to eat, it has to be brought and fed to her. No real use of her hand's, arm's, leg's or feet. I know she hurt's, has to be frustrated at times having to rely on some one else for everything. But she has that "never ending" optomistic, "happy to be here", "happy to see you" attitude.
I really have a long way to go, when it come's to being "content" about where I'm at. Or not letting my ill temper getting the best of me over something trivial. Next time I feel myself getting ready to complain, maybe I should just think of Miss Glenda. Just thought I'd share this, I probably need to read this a couple hundred times myself. Frank

That's a great attitude - Be grateful for the things you have - simple as they may be .... And don't be bitter about the things you don't have or the things that others have...

Thanks for sharing. We all tend to loose sight of what's really important. Taking a step back to smell the roses helps us all see things more clearly.
