BANNED CAMP - TIME OUT - HUBRIS SUCKS
Its Story Time Again...........
when i was little i wasn't allowed to get a job. by that i mean, no working at mc'donalds, the mall or any other place for $2.00 an hour. my father made my brother and i caddy. that was my summer job, not counting my paper route for at least 6 years. i started out with one bag, then quickly learned to carry two. my father insisted i talk to people that were older than me, that had the knowledge, the connections to succeed. i was expected to talk my ass off while i carried this guys golf bag, learn to be polite, and say something intelligent. well believe it, it worked. after a while guys asked for me. they tipped me a buck for all the conversation that i brought out in them. i even played golf on caddie day every week. it opened my eyes to a world of opportunity that you never know exists if your stuck dipping ice cream. remember this is 1970. anyway my first real job was as a plumber's helper. i worked 60 hour week's. it was so easy i dont even know where the time went. at $2.00 dollars an hour, i made $120.00 dollars a week.it was 1972. i got paid cash every saturday. no taxes were ever taken out. carmen was good to me, and i was loyal to him. he was a plumbing contractor that drove a pink cadillac with a white poodle. damn, now i wish i had pictures. anyway, i spent $20.00 dollars a week of the money i made, and saved $100.00. at the end of the summer i saved $1200 dollars which made me feel rich. it also taught me a valuable lesson about the future. now i like to tell stories my way, and some dont always get it but heres my point.why cant the North Carolina Boys and Girls club adopt the same saving policy? you see, instead of every year we need this, we need that, cant we have a fund that donates to the future? instead of instant spending, cant a donation be made that goes longer? it has to start somewhere.............its an old Main Line saying"spend all the interest you want, just dont touch the principle" its how foundations are built. so, Glenn W.........after all the shit i started, trying to get where i was going. is it possible? ever since i came to North Carolina ten years ago, ive come back. i played at Duke,
with the G man, and do love it there. im not telling anyone how to run their charity, or what to do, but i am saying this............ill send two donations, one you can spend now. just like the twenty bucks i spent in 1972. the other has to go into a fund that needs to be set up for the future. never spend it..... EVER. spend only the interest. if everyone did this in ten years or twenty years, the North Carolina Boys and Girls club will have a foundation to grow on. i'll send $100.00 and $500.00 dollars. you decide which you want to be which. next year, after the fund is set up, i'll decide which i want to be which. its just the way i think, sorry for all the trouble. i wanted to get there, but if it just lands in your lap....im a sap. peace, alex.

Thank you Alex.----- Yes, you knunkleheads, we have farted and made up----
Endowments are wonderful ideas and I believe Jim Bailey (a member of the Board of Directors for the Tournament) may have started one last year for the Boys & Girls Club. I'm sorry, I don't remember the details off hand but I will find out and get back to you ASAP.
Thanks for your support
Glenn

Sit down Shut up And fish
Alex, I am really impressed!! I've known you for over 12 years and I am one of a few who know how generous you can be. I think your endowment concept is a great idea. Maybe we can get something started here. Glenn W when the endowment details are finalized send me a PM and I will send a $100.00 donation. How about it SFC members, this is a great opportunity to give something back to boys and girls who are not as fortunate as some of us.

If I can get pledges for at least three hundred more (for a minimum of $1,000) I will inquire as to our own endowment in the name to be picked by Hubris.---- Assuming there are no legal snags, but I wouldn't think so. The details are rather simple for the endowment and I would imagine the B&G Club director knows how to manage and administer such perpetual funds---- I really don't know for sure though----- looks like I may have some work to do----
What say ya'll?

This of course is upon approval and blessing from the man with the idea.

The Endowment idea makes sense!! Its kinda like the gift that keeps giving!!
Two Thumbs Up for a great idea!!
The kids need all the help that they can get. Lets help to make thier day a little brighter by contributing to the overall charity, but also the Endowment fund.
