    Isla Mujeres- charter boat suggestions?

I am new to this site, so I hope this doesn't get posted in the wrong location. I am leaving Jacksonville Florida next weekend to meet my Sister in Isla Mujeres for a week. I have never been there before, and looking for suggestions on a charter boat. My Sister has never caught a sailfish, so I want to take her out for a great day of fishing. It appears that the boats from Cancun pass Isla, so if you know of a boat there that you would recommend instead, that would be great. The only boats in Isla that I have read about are the Keen M and the JAX. Thank you in advance for any tips or suggestions!!

I don't know how much longer these boats will be there, or if they still are, but the Qualifier, Obession, BIOPSEA, Country Girl, Contango, and Goombay were all there at one time.

Check oregon-inlet.com or ifishpiratescove.com to get in touch with some of these boats.

I second what Tuna Teaser said. If any of those US boats are still there when you are going you can't go wrong. You might want to try Capt Fin on the Qualifier at fin@qualifiercharters.com or PM Chris from the Qualifier here on the board at 'Qualifier Chris' - world class operation IMO.

The Keen M group is a good choice for local boats.

Good luck down there. They have been chewing!!

Get a hold of Capt Ruben Pena. He lives there. He runs his own boat but also works/mates for a lot of the big boys who come down every season.

us and the goombay are one day away from being back in carolina. we fished our last day on the 5th and caught 41 sails. the fishing there is still great and we plan on being back next year for sure. Rom is still there on the qualifier but i think they're pretty booked up. you might check with glenn on the floridian or jessie on the bi op sea. our best day of fishing we caught 70 sails and still had time to swim with them at the end of the day. our worst day was 7 which still isn't that bad and we averaged in the mid to upper 20's. what an incredible place. i hope you find a boat and catch em up.

I heard about this...that's incredible. Probably more sails in one day than you will catch all season at OI Pretty work and good luck on the trip back. Has qualifier hit 1000 yet?

    Thanks everyone for the tips!

Ruben is working on the Keen M boats right now.

Kin Mendillo from Keen M contacted me and they are available. And, he let me know about another couple wanting to split a trip. So, my one fishing day is now 2 or 3 days...

I'm looking forward to the trip!
