I'd read this earlier today and intended to post on it. Other priorities got in the way, so, I'm glad W posted it.
W doesn't explicitly say why he found this article interesting or what it means to him. But he does respond to each of my posts with a f*ck finger. So, I'd imagine his a useless, know-nothing with few ideas of his own to use in any meaningful discussion.
Maybe I wouldn't care much about what he meant, in retribution.
Anyway, what I find extremely illuminating was how many people cited in the article are frankly clueless about what's actually going on around them and how readily and lazily they accept what they're told of things rather than go form original and informed opinions. I guess FOX propoganda works, huh?
Actually, this brings up something I've been stewing about...how did stupid become so fashionable in America, especially on the right? I posted a video recently which was a parody of a right-winger running for office who explicitly celebrated how little he knew of things important to his job and how smug he felt about getting elected to the office based on his PLAIN OLD COUNTRY STUPIDITY. It was called willful ignorance and W posted his customer f*ck finger.
But with Sarah Pail never reading magazines or books, not being able to name a single Supreme Court decision she disagreed with (when Roe vs. Wade seems to fall from the lips of right-wingers like drool), with O'Donnell not realizing that the Constitution contains within it a prohibition of the state being involved in promoting religion, with Sharon Angle standing in front of an Los Angeles classroom rightfully stock with Hispanics and calling the Asians, WHERE THE HECK IS INTELLIGENCE ON THE RIGHT ANYMORE?
But most importantly, how in the Devil do you guys support these idiots. They'd be readily exposed as the perfect idiots they are, the media would forget them and we'd all stop having to hear about them if they didn't accrue political proponents and constituents (that's you guys).
What the Dickens do you see so appealing about social idiots that you'd want them in the legislature or the White House. Aren't there any intelligent conservatives anymore?
LongFisher
A whole new subset of lifeform spawned by Fox / Tea Party.
The mindless cut & paste conspiracy theorist drones. They are energized by parroting whatever pushes their buttons and never realize they are being manipulated
The birthers really got the ball rolling in the current enviroment and it was so effective, Beck, Limbaugh and the like continue to seed the drones who dutifully regurgitate en masse.
Palin's death panels, Roswell, 9/11 planned by US etc are all the same in that you need these drones to perpetuate the story.
I generally agree with your posts and have never used a F*ck finger anywhere.
Classic example of the hypocrisy of the left. You claim conservatives make all kinds of false claims to steer their supporters, yet this article is perfect proof that the left does exactly the same thing.
You guys fracture me!![]()
IE8 says this may be a phishing site....Well, DUH!!!!!!... Stupid jerks can't even spell fishing right.
How exactly does this article indicate that the left makes false claims to steer its supporters?
The article is about how ignorant everyday Americans have become about issues they claim to be knowledgable about.
Please show me where the left's "false claims" are mentioned or even alluded to.
The article itself is the false claim. Only a democrat, or the leftist NY Times would call what the article refers to as a "tax cut" there is no tax reduction here. Yet they portray it as if it is to make Obama and company look like they've cut taxes.
Very solid point about reality and perception, 'cept it's about your reality and perception.

I (and the article) call it a tax cut when you cut someone's taxes. What do you call a tax cut?
Unless you are earning over $250K per year, your taxes have gone down under Obama.
the idea of taxing someone more, because they make more, is nothing short of criminal.
A reduction in my tax liability is a tax cut. There's no liability reduction in the article, only a witholding reduction. You still owe the same amount of taxes on April 15th. Calling that a tax cut is misleading political double-speak. Exactly the kind of thing some of our other posters have accused the "Becks and Limbaughs" of using to manipuate their "drones". The NY Times is manipulating its drones too.
