Time to head to the airport. Then train station. Then taxi... Leave beautiful wife, 85 degrees and bluebird skies only to head to 50 something, empty boat and rain...
Window closed at least for tomorrow... So I'll be on board twiddling my thumbs all dressed up and nowhere to go. No net, no TV, a half mile from town, nothin to do but listen to the wind whistling in the riggers...
Every day it seems I look at the forecast. It changes and there are new red letters "Advisory" "Gale warning" and so on. I'd like to get this boat back south before I go completely nuts...
By the grace of God the plane made it though I'm pretty sure that I heard it huffing puffing and groaning... Actually got in early...
Great early means I can catch the train instead of high priced mini bus. Taking rail around airport I see a bunch of flashing cops lights and finally a familiar shape at the end of a runway... Its US Air Force One...
WTF? Is that clown doing here... Well I guess he's stumping for that dismal excuse for a Governor... Corzine the crash test dummy...
I soon leaned something. Presidens comming to town are often a pain in the ass tying up traffic and stuff. This one took it to a new level... They shut down the rails and roads and even air space for miles around. Shut down the north half of Jersey and all those that would be travelling north and south.
It wouldn't be an issue if it was for a couple minutes but the world stopped for over two hours...
Just got to boat and already doing projects. Heater pump was clogged and TV wouldn't turn on. Finally got both workin and now I'm gonna watch the series but wanted to keep you guys in the know first...
Watchin my riggers floppin, tower bendin, and more red letters showing up on the forecast. Supposed to be 15020 NW with Gust to 25 tomorrow but I might just take it as nothing else really looks better...
Good to have another girlie type on the site. Welcome aboard. No you can't have me but that doesn't mean we can't be buddies... Now if you get to Florida or the Bahamas and still want to go fishin, we're good to go...
Deep I made it from Cape May to Westbrook CT via the NY Haba and the East River ,the first part was bumpy to say the least and i was going up hill.
at least you have the wind to your back for the most part ,I callled a lay day today with gust to 30 and 3-5 ,the only good thing is that i have an internet connection and good eats 100 feet away
Oh yah I saw 2 identical Helo's that looked military buzzing NYC
Chris you picked a good day to hole up. Just got back from the beach across the street. Surf fully 8 foot or more, east at about 20 and ugly... Six foot at the buoy off Sandy Hook. They're talking somewhere doable to nasty now. They took the west out of the game and upped the call 15 from straight north with gusts to 30... That to me says they don't have a clue.... Bottom end they're calling 7 foot and 7 seconds... That promises to be be a bow stuffin bummer on this wet *****.... Possible we shoot just Cape May instead of OC tomorrow then Norfolk the next to get back on schedule...
