Sure seems like the forecast is all over the place. There was even a tropical storm developing in the mid-atlantic that could have been really nasty. Not sure if it's over for now or not. Hopefully you will have your weather window on Wednesday.

I dunno... When today first made it to thr forecast window it was supposed to be 5-10 north west. We had 20-25 east all day...
Calling for a swing back north but still cookin but right this second its pretty calm here in the slip. Swinging a little but the back eisen glass still shows that its got more east than north in it. I get all excited then read the buoys still honkin on the other side of the street I guess... 7 foot 20+ local and near 9 foot to the south.
Not only do I have to get this one down but I gotta get her through the yard and get the other boat ready for a Keys tourney in about three weeks...

The weatherman must be smokin weed cause today was not as forecast all the way down. Never saw North, northwest, or west. Had one set of swells five foot on port bow. Another on the port stern. Then we had two feet of chop qnd 20 knots in the face.
Braced for worst crossing the bay and instead it was like a big swelly mill pond... Speed was good all day. All else was was good too... Sittin in sunset... Long walk to Green Turtle now...

PS: The inlet was shit city here with swell comming against the outgoing...

Thumbs up

Good deal! Like the old Willy Nelson song "On the Road Again" - you sure couldn't wait much longer! lol I like the Fisherman's restaurant if your are in Ocean City. You got a great week weather wise coming up (after Wed). One big high pressure system followed by another bigger one this wknd.
Turn 'em & Burn 'em tomorrow morning - you'll probably have company runnin with ya. Boats are lining up 10 deep sometimes at the bridges now.

Twenty knots of northeast pushed us down the line to Norfolk today... Hop skip and a jump really... Small hop to Coinjock in AM... 14 bridges and a canal lock to keep us crawlin between here and there. The slowest fifty miles on the whole run for sure. Last year took six hours going south and just over five when we headed north...
Looks like gale condition possible for Friday but we're inside. As long as no closure of Aligator bridge we should make Morehead that day. Just not enough daylight to get all the way there tomorrow...

PS:Theres a big sports bar three blocks from here that serves a monster burrito worth writing home about...

Wow... Screw up one bridge and miss an opening and bad gets nuts real quick. One in Norfolk had a glitch and stacked 29 of us up! Gal at the bridge said bring em up and nobody wanted to move so I passed about 17 and took lead spot. Getting through the lock in spot one was to everybodies advantage cause there wasn't a boat in that stack that could even dream of keeping up.
We had left at 8 Am and before lock we had already caught the 7AM crowd. By the time we neqred Coinjock we had eaten even the six o' clock or earlier. One sailboater ( under power) got pissed at my 28 knot drive by but the bone head was zig zagging across a wide part of the channel and wouldn't leave mey a wide berth to get by.
Exchanged a few words. But when he showed here in Coinjock I was ready to answer his threats. He opted to go away quick.
So three days no issues... Gale possibility but plan is to hit Morehead tomorrow...
