Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
It just occured to me why this guy is pissed..The reason was right in front of my eyes on squids first post.He stated that the NC STATE POLICE MERGED WITH THE NCDMV..They did the same thing up here and like down there all hell broke loose.Reason is is that the STATIES AND THE DMV HAVE TWO DIFFERENT SENIORITY LIST.Meaning if your a STATIE and have been on the job 10 years and your #15 on the seniority list and due to this merger the DMV guys all have more time than you you are going to screwed as far as what shifts you have to work and details and so on.That puts probably 5 to 10 guys in front of you on the NEW all in one seniority list.Realize this guys these cops get paid details and work shifts that they know will get them the best chance at getting overtime. Now when they combine lists all hell breaks out.So now hes not #15 hes #22 and he has to work the midnight to eight in the morning. It lasted up here for about three years until the governer got rid of most of the DMVS with a early retirement package. But there was alot of inhouse fighting amongst the cops for those three years.I still know cops that are still pissed about that and it was over 15 years ago. That cop probably just took a 10 thousand dollar pay cut!!!!!Mind you this is just a guess but if you look into it I bet you find out that thats what this is all about!!!!GOOD LUCK!!!

Crab mustard is good
xxmacplherexx,
a "class A" NC license only lets you two the weight... the CDL will let you do this as a paying job. We also have "weighted tags" for both. Their is only a short driving exam for the class A, with the CDL's there is a lot more involved. As far as the other laws that have been mentioned, they either fall under Federal, or NC State, and for the most part both. I don't know what the deal is where your at, but unfortunately this is how it is in NC.

Captain you mean you can get a CLASS A LIC. and you dont have to take a road and written test???I mean a road test where you actuallly drive the truck and trailer around cones and back up down a ally and do all other types of manuvers with the trailer hooked up.Interesting..When you guys say tags your reffering to the plates on your vehicle right?Up here we have 3 types of lic.CLASS A where you can drive anything but a school bus.CLASS B is for straight job trucks meaning like big dump trucks but no trailers.CLASS C or D I forget this is just for cars.In order to drive a bus you need a CLASS B with what they call a 7D endorsment so you can carry people. And if you want your motocycle lic you have to take a road test on a bike and they put a little M on youy lic.I thought the different states were pretty much the same.

This whole issue makes no sense. What's the point of registering your trailer if you tow vehicle's tags have to cover it? It's double dipping, IMHO. You paid for the trailer tags which are for a certain weight, and the truck tags, also. Combined total weight should be covered by both tags, not one. Shitty deal.
