If you raised kids did it turn out to be gratifying or disappointing?

A Marriage is between a husband and a Wife. Not children. They will move on and have their own life. That is what you raise them to do. By a husband and wife having a HEALTHY Marriage, children learn what its all about in life. I pity the man that spends all his time thinking, its all about the kids..........
Healthy children are raised by parents that are adults, love them but.........the Marriage between them is most important. Show me a guy that thinks different, Ill show you a guy that wants a divorce.

It was too much to ask of those with whom I've regularly debated here to be objective about an entirely different issue.

Oh, well. I knew it when I posted. I just didn't have anyone else at the time with whom I enjoyed as much annonymity as I do here and with whom to share my most personal thoughts.

Glad to have given some of you some sport. It sure looks like you enjoyed it.

For the record, I shared my thoughts about this with my kids and their reaction was one of immediate and complete regret for the crap they'd caused my wife and I all these years. Maybe things are a-changin'.

I've found some other sites that focus on this topic and I'll restrict my thought sharing with those more objective folks.

But I appreciate your vigor. And, I appreciate the Republicans in you living down to your standards of whenever there's an idea with which you don't agree you start name-calling.

I read your comment and I think it would be a good idea to share all of your thoughts on those other sites. For a while I almost felt sorry for you with your wife and children but the more I read the more I feel sorry for your children and your wife. I've been married over 30 years(granted we have had ups and downs) My wife and I have raised 3 wonderful children. I truly believe that children are a direct result of how they are raised. If you have a negative attitude your children will mimick the same. You raise them with good morals in a loving home and they will follow suit. Sure they will stumble but they will never forget the lessons they learned growing up and they will pick themselves up. As a parent you lead by example and you reap what you sow. Each of my children have stumbled along the way but each of them reached down to the way they were raised and have overcome the pitfalls for which as a parent and a Father I am proud.

Tomorrow when you get up and look in the mirror. ask yourself did you do your best at being a husband and a father? The answer will always be no because we all can do better. The future is forever in front of us, we can't change what has passed but we can influence what is to come, be it a better husband or a better father.
