Unhappy An Icon About At its End

My day started bad... real bad... Went down tio my boat to get it ready for tomorrows charter. Showed up and it wasn't in the water where I left it. The marina staff had put it away without me knowing or my permission. I found it on its rack and instantly saw some major issues. My trim tab was busted and my rigger was twisted like a pretzel. They had never said anything!
I crawled up in my little shot head dockmasters face about this being the third time that this shit has gone down and now I'm @$%#&*$ pissed off. He's not the brightest crayon in the box and gave me a smart ass reply... "Oh , Mr. Cameron we broke your trim tab and bent your rigger..."
I about went over the top. I turned purple but with witnesses I held back on letting the lightning bolt go. When the witnesses were out of sight I let him know that it would be to his advantage to retire at 27 years old and move far away as this time I will adjust his plumbing...

So that was the start to my day... Now to the Icon part... I got back in the beloved rolling tackle box and left the marina before I really honestly took that kid apart... Things were going along swimmingly until I approached a red light at a busy intersection. I went to brake and there were none! I mean zip zilch nada!!! I had to do some fancy steering and gaspedal work to negotiate the intersection as I was yanking on a basically useless emergency brake...
Eventually I gained contol and made it through. Living in an affluent community means that we have no repair shops very close by and it was four miles of hand brake travel on crowded roads to my trusted local shop. As we inspected the problem we found that the metal lines had both rusted through and the other one was about to go. further inspection spelled that most everything under the car that holds her together is effectively shot... So with that , we patched the lines and I'm gonna put her out to pasture.

Thats right the Rolling Tackle Box being no longer safe for long trips is gonna go away... Right now funds are way low so the replacement won't be what or when I wanted... Its funny how you can get attached to an old piece of shit but with her I have... I've got some shoppin to do and then I'll put her down...

Rides are like women. You only miss the last one till you get to ride the new one. Trade her in for a younger model and rider her hard and put her away wet. The good thing is she won't take half yo stuff when you put her out to pasture!

Deep, we feel your pain. Sorry for your loss. I'd have to agree with dman25, but I don't know who's watching.

I should have been able to walk on my boat, turn the keys and let them warm up a bit. I should have stowed a few teasers and laid out rigs. It should have been a nice day... Nope... I had to take three trips to get hardware to fix the tab. Another two to the metal shop to kinda straighten the rigger. Not mention all the labor taking it off and putting it on. I should have stopped someplace and got lunch but instead I'm sore ass tired, starved, still pissed and missing the ol girl all ready...

ill bow my head and say a prayer, look at the bright side the cats won't follow you down the street, without the smell of fish from the tailgate they will be gone.

the dang car was supposed to break down in gilbertsville, not in palm beach.
