The icing on the cake!!!

OR I SHOULD SAY THE NJ PARKWAY!!!

So i got to say i had a pretty good weekend...but am glad its over. My weekend consisted of wedding crashing and boat hoppin. The hurricane was just the excuse i needed to have some fun

However...the cherry on top of my weekend happened on the NJ parkway. I had just gotten back from picking up the P rents at the AC airport ( O and BTW - the weather report was sunny skys and hangovers..no bad weather at all) and we decided it was finally time to pick my other truck up from the shop ( the fuel pump had gone out)...Starts up, and i take off.....all the sudden the radio starts to gargle.....im going about 70 miles an hour and the car bucks...............the radio shuts off and the battery light goes on!

WTF!!!!!!

Man i just got this thing fixed....the words were flying....and then it happens, she gives out and i barely make it over the 3 lanes to the shoulder....she is dead... MAN!! im hungover, tired and now stuck on the side of the road...I should have known, you dont drink irish carbombs all night and have a good next day...ever.

So i make the phone call...pops brings the jumper cables and on the side of the NJ turnpike we try to get her back on track. Nothing, we rev the engines, we sit there for a half an hour...and still nothing. she is toast. finito. O- we also forgot to bring the flash and wrenchs. I blame the lack of preparation on the lack of sleep However, we were about to leave when we decided to give it one more shot and see if anything was loose, we tighten her up and reattach the cables and start her up......WOOHOO!!! were in action....Okay - game plan was to drive with no lights down the NJ parkway and try to get her back to the house........

I get about half way up the north wildwood bridge when she decides she isnt havin it and she shuts off. MAN!!!!!! so we push her over to the side of the road, i jump in Pops truck and we go back to the house. We decided we were going to take the battery out of my dads work truck and put it in mine and get her home.

well long story short.....i just spent the last 2 hours on the side of the NJ parkway...Im just glad it didnt happen yesterday..it would have put a sever damper on my hurricane preperation!!

you drive a ford or a dodge haha I'm kidding. Sounds like you ain't charging so it sounds to me that your gonna be replacing an altenator. Goodluck

Just had the same thing happen to me in the beginning of August towing the boat home from Ocean City, MD. swapped the 2 boat batteries in and made it to Aberdeen, MD. Had to get my mom to bring me a 4th battery to make it home. Total time 8 1/2 hours, for a 2 1/2 hr. trip. Didn't help that it was the same day that truck went off the Bay Bridge and I had to go through Delaware along with the 50000 other people.

Don't you drive a F(ix)O(r)R(epair)D(ailey)? Sorry for yoiur troubles. After having the luxury of driving the Jersey turnpike 3 times in my life it is not a road I would want to have troubles on.

We brought a Ford down here and she lasted about 8 months. I'm Land Rover jeep all the way now...!!! Awesome ride when you're dealing with tropical storms and hurricanes..!!!

Yeah, that was established at 10:00....this "chevy" truck had been a pain in the butt for the past 6 months. I just cant seem to let her go tho.....She was my first truck.
