thanks for the compliments on Gulliver the horse. My wife was really proud when she read that. Gulliver is a 6 yr old percheron cross from canada. He is what is known as a PMU baby or Premerin (sp) foal. Premerin is a drug for women going the menapause. The drug is a made with pregenent horse urine. So needless to say there are a ton of unwanted foals being shot out in canada to make this drug. most of them go to the meatman but some of the lucky ones get adopted. Jen adopted this one when he was only 6 months old - probably younger we later found out, and then had it shipped to us in DC. But a screw up sent the horse to Georgia. So she had to go pick it up. On the way back from Georgia we almost lost Gulliver when she got stuck in traffic in fredericksburg, VA due to the DC sniper shooting in Fredericksburg. The foal went nuts in the trailer when a search helipcopter lowered to eye level and shined a spotlight in the trailer. When they finally made it home the horse developed some sort of shipping disease and almost died again. She slept in the stall with the deathly little guy for 3 nights until he pulled through. Everyone thought she was nuts including me. Jen and Nico have trained this horse into being one hell of a competitor and companion. I am not too much of a horse guy but I really love Gulliver. He has turned out to be awesome. But I still won't let her bring him into the dining room for christmas dinner
