Good Point Or ( No Points )

That sounds like a great Idea to me. I'll check it out tomorrow and let you know what I have. I would love to have an MSD distributor setup. Any Ideas on an upgrade for a carb/intake?
Remember, everything is running OK for now but I would like to think of upgrades like the fuel lines mentioned and getting rid of the points if I have them, ect...

    confused....

    i'm confused here...so...bear with me...

additives for oil and fuel, right?? why ??? give me a reason anyone wants to add something to either the fuel or the oil...

etanol is in the fuel in our area, right?? i laugh at the stories i read, here's a good one..."my engine was running rough,so,i added a bottle of startron, imediatley, the engine ran better"...
let me tell you this one more time...adding anything to the fuel and oil on a 4 stroke engine is a waste of money...using startron,is a waste of money, putting a carbon guard in that engine is a waste of money...
points and msd ignition systems...well...if that engine has points,i reccomend to upgrade to electronic ignition...

again, the most important thing with any marine engine,is to be sure the engine reaches it's full rated rpm...that engine in your rig, change the oil and filter every 40hrs-add nothing to the oil...DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC OIL IN THAT ENGINE !!

West marine carries the point conversion kits for roughly $150. One of the boat shops on here may have it for less but I have a west marine just down the road so I have their page shortcutted. You should be able to pick up all your fuel lines for under 50 bucks. If you have any mechanical abilities you should be able to do both in a couple of hours. I wouldnt worry about the additives.

    Point Taken

OK, Point taken. Ill add nothing to the motor. I'll check my set up tonight and let you know. I didn't have time last night. I had to run the kids around and didn't get in until 10:20Pm. I'll be installing the P/S pump and running the motor tonight so I'll be able to see my set up. Thanks for the feedback. JBQ
