to this Gov't debt problem. It came to me today while working. Get rid of those over-paid "representatives" of our's and put a few military wives in their place. Only requirement is that they must have 3 kids minimum and a rank of no higher than E-4. I was raised up as a military brat and I saw first hand what a good wife can do with nothing. We always made do with nothin'. My wife is a VET and she was raised in a military family as-well. No such thing as can't or a bunch of whining, just ain't gonna happen.
My suggestion is to offer them minimum wage, give them a 1250 sq ft 3 bedroom house and tell them that their kids can go to private school. That's it. All the lazy butt's we have in DC would have to do is get out of the way. Sound's simple, because it is. In the real world, if you don't produce you get fired. Not in DC! Frank

My suggestion would be multi pronged. First, if you are on ANY and I mean ANY program with the federal government, you lose the right to vote. Along with that, we need to get the 49% of citizens that are not paying taxes, to cough some up. If you don't pay taxes, you would also lose the right to vote. If you are not paying or are on a program, your judgement is tainted by those factors. Voting in this country is about which candidate would be best for the COUNTRY, not who is going to put the most money in my pocket.

Federal crop subsidies are the biggest crock or crap I have ever seen. My ex father in law worked for ABC and produced nightline. He told me the story about back in the 80's the farmers were all poor in Kansas. He sent a crew of investigators out there to do a story on it. They pulled into the town that was supposedly hardest hit by the drought. Crops were all dead in the fields and all of the farmers were driving new caddies that they bought with their gubment checks.

Yep, spot on, Glenn. Some talk without first thinking of the repercussions if their loose talk were actually acted upon.

I have an appointment with a neighbor today to talk about health insurance. She and her husband are known to me because we are members of a small group of neighbors who get together each Saturday morning for about an hour to allow our dogs to interact. And, she's about as ignorant a person as I've ever met.

But I try to just get along. After all, 1) it's about the dogs and 2) her husband owns an auto shop that works on just vettes and my son is into them.

Anyway, she's 62 and her husband is 67 and on Medicare. When the talk turns to politics they often say something patently stupid, "I've never taken a single dime from the government in my whole life. I hate Obamacare because it's socialized medicine."

And, they say this while the husband stands there with a Medicare card in his wallet.

Fantasies, just right wing fantasies.

Today, I'm going to recommend to them that, given the sorry state of the wife's insurance (one of the F****** mini-med things) that they enroll her in the new Federal Exchange for those with pre-existing conditions. She has plenty and she never stops talking about them.

But I'm going to make it clear that it's part of Obamacare and that it's absolutely a socialized medicine program. I'll let you know later what their reaction was.

I have taken a 60% pay cut over the last 2 years while people are bitching that they didn't a cost of living increase in their various dole outs from the government? Gimme a break. If they are unhappy about the money that they are getting from the government, then get a ******* job! any conversation like this has got to be reduced to Rep/Dem. We are ALL in this boat together. This is no different than running a business on a bubget, excuse my ignorance. There is a given amount of money in the checking account! You have got to figure out the best way to spend what is in there. I don't see Veterans as being a liability here, they paid for what they get. If they weren't there,WE wouldn't be here either. Make no mistake about it. It's the spending that pay's nothing in return, that gets my goat. Remember there is a "given" amount of money and that "borrowed" money has to be paid back at some point.
The Rep/Dem thing is exactly why we are where we are at now. Sadly we have allowed ourselve's to become a society of relying on someone else. That just simply has to come to an end. Make do with what you've got, earn what you want in this life. Frank

Unfortunately Frank, it is an us vs them situation - But I don't think it is a Repbulican vs Democrat issue - it is Congress and the Lobbies vs. the tax paying American Public.

Why are there 78 lobbyists PER Congressman? Why are candidates allowed to accept PAC monies? Why are there not term limits?

Do you really think our so-called representatives really care what their constituents want? Those bastards are supposed to represent the will of the people that elected them - Instead they just try to get re-elected - Free Healthcate, Lifetime Pension, a salary about 10 times the poverty level with guaranteed raises...
