I have a hard time asking for help.

But now all bets are off!
Figured I should probably start now. If anyone remembers the stop smoking thread...well at least I don't do that anymore...
I got cancer again, and my new wife and I are having a tough time...its pretty serious and my options are kinda limited. I can use all the help I can get. Would not mind hearing from a few of you if ya get the time...you guys all helped me get through the first rounds of treatment whether you knew it or not! figured I would let you know whats going on.

Keep the faith brother! I work with oncology surgeons often and you should know that some of the world's most brilliant minds are on the case. Progression is made daily. Cancer is a *******, but it's losing the battle on multiple fronts. Stay positive bro!

My Grandmother was a three time survivor. She made it 40 years after the first bout when she was in her 40's. Id say making it till your 80s is old age. Im sure if you beat it once you can do it again, it'll be old hat this time. Keep your head up and smile wide and push the sumbitch back.

Johnny a good friend once told me "when your at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on". I thought it was kind of a hokie thing to say at the time. But it's brought me through some pretty deep stuff the last few years. Hang in there Bud!! We 're with you.

    jesus!
as if it does not ever stop. I just spent the last 4 hours on the phone with my kid.
13 years old 200+lbs and newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes...spending a few weeks with my folks. I just left him down there after spending the weekend with them and giving them...and him the news about me.
He does not want to eat the way Grandma thinks he should.
He wants cake AND french fries...grandma wants something realistic...She knows the Atkins diet
The bright side is I figured out how to do a three way call on the fly and got mom(my ex) grandpa(on a house extension), my son and I all on the same page!
I don't think that was quite what he expected.
Needless to say it worked out for the best and I think my son understands that we all want whats best for him.
Meanwhile I am trying to figure out why I am the one trying to make everyone feel better...
I am trying to figure all this out while my wife and I are sitting here with a bad case of the sniffles 'cause everyone wants to help and theres not much anyone can do ...

    Lets talk!

    Johnny,
As you are aware, ATTITUDE is everything. Wether it is positive or negitive. Your outcome depends on your attitude. You beat this once, you can do it again. There is a very large extended family here on SFC. Our attitude as a family will help you through this bout. As shoe said "cancer is a *******"! Please help us help you. Keep us informed as often as possible. We WILL keep you in our prayers and thoughts. There is no doubt about that! And always believe that you are stronger than your illness. You need help....you let us know!

    Tom
