Hey guys. Just wanted to give a little update on me and the rodbuilding.
Well, this week has involved a lot of soul searching. I got "the" call from my manager on Monday. "Meet me in Greenbelt at the Marriott at 1 tomorrow." "No crap, I said. Um, OK. So the next day, I meet them at the prescribed time and location. "Kevin, this is difficult for me to say, but Corporate has decided to restructure the national sales force and I am sorry to say that thee is not a spot for you................. silence.................. Wow, is all I could say. "We have to answer to Wall Street and in a declining market, we MUST show profits to the stockholders. When sales are down, the only way to do this is to cut overhead. And, you are overhead." So, after a few minutes of me staring at the paperwork and not being able to comprehend any of the legal jargon, listening to his excuses and blither blather, he put the options in front of me. Two paths I could take......... 1 was a "performance improvement plan with goals that were not realistic and unattainable, or the other a pittance of a buyout. I have sat on the paperwork and thought about wiping my butt with them and sending them back, but know that it wouldn't be wise to do that. What does a Cardiac Rhythm specialist do when there are no jobs out there in this field???
So, it looks like I am now a statistic. Yup, call me Mr. 10.1%. That said, now is the time that I pick up my head and dust myself off and start down the new path that has been laid before me. I have thought about this for a few days and I am going to do what many want to do in life. I am going to follow my passion and go fulltime into the rodbuilding. Thats right! Angler's Envy Custom Rods is now going to be a fulltime operation. No more building and getting paged away from my work to help patients. No more weekend call to take me away rom my work.
So, I am here with hat in hand to humbly ask you for your business. This is now my only income and I need your help. If anyone on this board fishes (I think there are a few on here that do (Sarcasm)) and you are looking for new rods, gaffs, etc, please give me a shot and I know that you will be happy with what your money buys! I am hungry for your business and hope that you will give me a shot. I refuse to go stand in line for the gubment dole out and want to fix this problem that was made for me by corporate America.
I ask for your help in these tough times. Please buy American, made by American workers.
John (Admin), can you give me a call next week when the WMO is over so that we can talk and put the past behind us and move forward with the board? I am still an advertiser on the board and want that to continue. Can you help a guy out here that is just trying to make a living and I extend my hand and hope that you will shake it.
