Don't go to the cops themselves. They don't have the authority to do anything about the ticket once it's written. If the time off won't kill you I would go and fight it. Chances are with that many errors it will get tossed. If it's not thrown out outright you can then show that your registration is current. I wouldn't say anything about the expired tags until you're asked. Don't lie about it, just don't admit guilt unless you're forced to.

Another thought; if it doesn't have your name on it, how are they going to find you? The poor so-and-so at the roofing company is going to end up showing them the notice like neilinov said and they'll end up throwing it out.

He visits the court, or you do. Your choice.

The officer entered a "CL" rather than just a "C" when entering my plate number. I'm talking to the county right now about it and so far they said they are going to talk to the officer to see how he wants to handle it. Here's the last response I got:

"Please provide your correct phone number. I will speak with the officer and have him call regarding this situation. The ticket can not be expunged at this time. The officer has to either dismisses the ticket our attempt to prosecute it with the incorrect information."

Seems to me the ticket isn't valid with all this incorrect info on it. But one guy told me the officer "can ammend any info he wants to up until the due date of 1/07. I guess that would make it valid at that point. Who the hells knows......

Let's hope he is in the Christmas spirit and dismisses it.....the fact that you brought it up before court should help...

They way it usually works here is get the tag renewed and carry proof to the DA and they will throw it out.

I went and got it renewed the day I got the ticket during my lunch hr. Maybe that will show them that I just forgot, which I did. You'd think they'd see my spotless record and give me a warning rather than give me $111 ticket. It's just them being revenue whores. We'll see what happens.....

By the way......the tag infraction was $50. $61 of the $111 went to all of the other bs associated with the courts....

Same thing happened to me about a month ago, cop said go online and renew it and I'll check up on you. In about a half hour it was done, the cop stopped by the house and said, "see that was easy." The reason I had let it slip is waiting for the registry to send me something, of course it never came.......

Yeah that's what they told me too, we're good for two years in MA, you know you might want to mention "he couldn't make it a warning could he" to the girl at the station, You didn't rob a bank with expired plates did you?

OK......Here's the deal and my opinion on how to proceed.

The officer that "wrote" the ticket just called. He said that the ticket has now been "fixed" to reflect my correct information. HOWEVER, I still have the original ticket with the errors on it. I think I should go to the court house and when I'm called up, I should show the judge or whomever that the two tickets have conflicting information. This may save me the $111. Maybe not.

Also, this guy didn't budge on giving me a break even though I brought the errors to their attention.
