Hudsons canyon info
I am considering trailering the boat up to the hudson to take part in this great tuna bite up there. Will be leaving Thurs driving through the night fishing friday and sat driving home sunday. I have a few questions though.
Where is the most practical inlet located with a few decent marinas close by and do you have any suggestions(good bait and Ice house mabe close to some hotels). How far of a run, the boat has around a 300 couple mile range.
I have always read about the 100 square, good place to start?
Chunking seem to be the productive method, any secret tips, we've been chunking down hear fo years, it just has not picked up this year. Hoping to see some at the back of the boat feeding, it's been awhile.
We are use to trailering to NC and always wanted to try up north, here we go...
thanks in advance, help on here I hope will make this trip great one
And if anyone thinks this is not the best run and mabe the toms is chime in please and why.

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
Wow, thats quite a trip, when are you going to sleep? Just a suggestion, a charter might be an easier way to fish this area for the first time
The tuna have been up and down the 100 fathom line. Dip, 100 square, Toms, carteret, spencer, lindencohl have all been producing fish. Figure minimum 90 mile run from manasquan. The yellowfin bite has been on the night chunk, LF and BE on the troll.
If you run out of Manasquan inlet, there are tourist hotels in town. Look at hotels in point pleasant beach. Might be tough to get a room on labor day weekend. Next weekend would be easier
Good spot for bait and ice is Fishermens supply, right near the inlet. Don't know the best spot for a transient slip, maybe Clarks Landing, Crystal Point (they have a hotel on site) or Hoffmans Marina
I'll be running out saturday, I expect a full report

A charter will take all the fun out of it.
There will be 4 of us so driving is not a issue, besides this is the normal change of plans.
Th interesting thing is if the spencer is producing, that's the same 90nm run for me from OC, cutting out the trailering time. And we already have a place in OC for the weekend.
And with the N winds this week I can see some of that cooler water pushing south mabe bring the fish with it.
Thanks for the info, either way we are fishing North this weekend.
