Followed a Google trail and ended up here. Seems like another last best place, too. Soon as I figure out how things work, I'll make a few posts.

Just to say, I'm no beginner, having started fishing in Long Island Sound back in the early sixties. Went inland after that, and gradually worked my way across the country with a long stint around the Great Lakes. Does anybody here know where Pilot's Cove is? Here's a hint.



Now if I can figure out signatures, and how to make a fishing report, I'll soon be back.

Is that flathead lake?

got started fly-fishing in montana when i was 11.. caught a 6 inch trout on the galatin outside big sky on a fly that i tied.

Nossir, that's Hungry Horse Reservoir. Note the complete lack of shoreline development. Because it's in the Jewel Basin, which is part of the Bob Marshall Wilderness. One of two places in the entire USA where it's legal to catch and keep Bull Trout. One per day, and two per season, but not bad considering they are on the USFWS threatened list. There are a bunch of them in here. Lots of Kokanee and Cutthroat too. Lake is deep (400ft) and long at 42 miles from damn to river.

Flathead Lake is what I wanted to do a fishing report about.
