Do you know how you can tell its winter.......apart from the cold that is.........
Just tune into the Sportfishermen.com winter edition.
After fall fishing winds down and the cold starts coming down from the Artic North things begin to change here on Sportfishermen.com. You would think that the cold air would bring with it a calming and cooling effect to this internet world we so love to be a part of. For most of the year those of us on here have our adrenelin pumping catching and killing the bounty of the seas and land. Winter should be a time of enjoying the Holidays with family and friends. It should also be a time of tying rigs, discarding the old line from the reels and putting new line on and preparing for the upcoming fishing and hunting seasons. Making sure everything is ready on the boats for spring. That is the way it should be...........
BUT NOT HERE IN THE WINTER WONDERLAND ON SPORTFISHERMEN.COM
When winter comes HERE things aren't as they should be. Winter has just arrived and already people are tired of being cooped up inside not being able to get out and slay some fish for the table. This is my second winter here on this wonderful site. I saw it happen last year and this year it seems to have started early. Something is said in a thread by one person and another gets pissed and then it is on. I'm as guilty as the next person and have done my share of firing back. I did it today when I got tired of: because of where I live I may be a Southern Retard. Tempers have already begun to flare up in threads and insults have started flying.
It looks to be a long long winter with this crap starting so early.
Folks, we have a great site here in which to pass the time when its too cold to do anything on the water or in the woods. We have a great bunch of people on here who have a wealth of fishing and hunting knowledge who are willing to share. We have a lot of people on here who travel in the winter to fish places many people here may or may not ever get the opportunity to go to those places. They post pictures and reports of their adventures but those threads don't seem to garner the looks and comments as some of the abrasive threads do. I say lets sit back and enjoy the tropical settings these members bring. Lets sit back and absorb the ideas and knowledge that members want to share. After all the name of the site is SPORTFISHERMEN.com not BITCHANDBERATEMEMBERS.com.
We have lost the interest of quite a few big time posters and contributors to the site because of the bickering back and forth. Lets not let the winter doldroms spoil the great place we have here.
Ya'll have a Happy New Year!!!
Jay
