How sharp is this hook?

How sharp do you think this hook is? Whould you use it this way?

Actually those NS black finish hooks will get surface rust but those conical points stay kind of sharp.

I'd put it behind my green machine, send her 3/4 spool back, and take a snooze...sure...why not?

Not to mention the way it is secured to the reel its scratching the crap out of the side plate

NOt buying that its sharp. Any way why not put new gear on just to make sure you're not missing fish that are biting but not getting hooked. I guess I'm just a sucker for little details but I guess if your OK going 1/7 the little details don't matter that much.

I agree. I'd give the hook the toss. I wouldn't use that hook in the first place but that's a whole other argument.

At least $200+ of gas to get out there if the fish are close. Hook is $4 or so. Seems silly to not spend the extra $ and time to replace.

There are a lot of silly things that happen on that boat. The guests spend all that money and time getting there and then they miss fish after fish. It's sad. I'm sick to the stomach thinking about it. It happens year after year but they don't think its a problem. He thinks its just what happens. Some will never learn.

1000`s of dollars worth of equipment hundreds spent on fuel to get to the fishing grounds why would you not use a fresh sharpened hook?
