    Talking Home Run at Hinch's!!!

The night's sleep was filled with wake ups... Finally at about 7am I stirred and shook Deep deckhand into consciousness... A belly full of Wawa coffee and a quick trip over the bridge to Hinch's was soon to follow... Chuck and Mary are so accomodating! Their back room was set to open space mode and soon our classroom was set.
One by one frinedly faces entered... I was totally humbled by the collection of folks on hand. We had an all star cast from never been sharkin kinds to some of the most tallented individuals to ever grace a cockpit... At 9am I kicked into my dialog... The warm reception melted away any stage fright there might have been.
Subject by subject we worked through the course outline... The pace grew and I was tickled how not only how attentive these great people were but also how quickly they got at least competent at difficult tasks like twisting wire. Our rig making and bait rigging section absolutely floored me with how well everybody caught on. Great questions through the day kept the topics fresh and shook other topics out of the cobwebs and recesses of my mind.
Break time seemed that they couldn't get enough. Comparing notes and sharing incite was being had all around. Hands on ono on one stuff was a pleasure for Deep Deckhand and my self.
Matt (Annglers dad) offered up his pretty new contender for us to run some mock fishing drills...Four at a time joined in the imaginary frays. One would contend with bluefish while another would deal with tailing threshers. Angler harnessed up and caught a slob mako, standing up with an 80w outfit!

It was a ball. Chuck and Mary, I cant thank you enough for all the help. To my class you have my undying appreciation. Today was a home run even if Fishpicker wrote in the dusty back window of the rolling tackle box... "Fishpicker owns me"... Thanks again every body...
Remember now that class is done the real learning begins. Learn from your fish. Be the fish. Use what you learned today... Remember not to fall in a trap as we did in the one excercise in class. Think past the obvious... You will all do well!

Deep-Thanks for the info that you shared in class. My son had a great time and said that he learned alot. Now he can apply what he has and I have learned and go get us a slob mako!

As far as twisting wire, my fingers have to get a little more tougher......I took a couple good jabs while trying to break off the tag end.

It was great meeting everyone at Hinches again and also meeting new people too. Off the Hook Bait and Tackle is a top shelf tackle shop with a great supply of merchandise and friendly people........(and a great dog too!!!)

As far as Matts Contender, she sure is a nice boat. It gets me in the mood to move on up to a new boat again.

Thanks for everything that you showed us today and maybe we can get together and do some shark fishing sometime..................Might even bring GradyWhite273 along too!!!

    Attn"... I missed something!!!

The drag setting on the tld 25 with 40 is 11 pounds, the 50 with 60 gets 16 the 80 gets 22lbs... More than that is too tough for stand up fights that can run a couple hours with a slob thresher...

Paul, thanks again for letting us be the first stop on the beginning of your traveling shark seminars. Wish, I could have sat in on the class, but from the response I got from the students it was a huge sucess and I'm sure the class will get better every time you do it
It was a pleasure meeting all of the SFC members that attended, sorry I couldn't have spent more time talking to you all.
Anyone interested in the learning the finer points of SHARK fishing defintely NEEDS to attend one of DEEP's seminars

Heyyyyy the last I saw of them the gulls were heading toward pickers boat... Those gulls are trained. Grady has a deal with them. He letes them know where and when its gonna happen. They swoop in and take the bait out of your hand then split the booty with the mastermind Grady...
He has his own tricks down too... "Oh throw the ball Deep" I wanna play catch... He thinks I didn't notice him detouring on the way to the ball via the case of macks and blues...

Still plenty of room for those who missed the south class... Pt Pleasant area will be Sunday June 17 at 9Am... Contact me at Compangms@aol. for details. We will again be sharing the tricks a-z that can make the difference between drifing and dreaming versus wrecking them...
