Just a little tidbit that I have discovered over the past several months while on the road for work.....
For those of you (us) who have a 2007 model year or earlier diesel truck, many of the PILOT travel stops have the LOW sulfur diesel fuel instead of that Ultra Low Sulfur crap. It clearly states on the pump that it is 500 ppm and NOT to be used in a diesel engine newer than 2007.
This LSD is getting me up to 5 mpg better than the ULSD. For example, I went from getting 17.5 mpg to 22.5 mpg at 75 mph after I filled up with it a couple months ago. I'm regularly averaging over 20 mpg (and up to 23.5 mpg) on a tank and I drive a 2006 GMC 2500HD on 33" tires (285/75/16). I have a friend with an F250 getting well over 25 mpg on the LSD when he can find it.
When I have to put in the ULSD, I'm running a sulfur additive made by Gunk Diesel and that alone increases my milage 3+ mpg. (My friend with the F250 is adding something by Amsoil and it increased about the same for him.)
Diesel fuel in KY (where I am right now) is $2.95. It was a little over $3/gal in Wilmington, NC when I left last week.
I believe I saw diesel here at 2.59 a gallon I filled up the car for 1.89 reg
