A few months ago she went off on an office trip to Mazatlan Mexico... I caught a barrage of crap as she bested her first blue marlin... gets a little "Hmmmm". I shrug it off... Somebody had to get her first. It wasn't me... This season she fished with me a bunch of times... Getting into it a little more each time... Hmmmmmm... A few weeks ago she was told she needed surgery on her knee and she put it on hold til she got done with her most recent trip down there... I didn't know she was going. She said she had been invited again but I didn't know she was gonna go. Hmmmmmmm.... She managaed some mahi and the boat had a couple sails during the trip. Then I catch wind that she made friends with some guy surf fishing and he let her reel in what to me sounds by description, guitar fish, a kind of skate shark thingie. The "hmmmms" grow more frequent... Now I just got done with nine days of playing the single parent. Fair enough, she gets that job when I'm up north or the Bahamas for extended periods. I've been on a weight gaining regimen since she left to try and get to "mako weight" in short order... no Hmmmm there... I went to pick her up at the airport last night. Shes outside on the curb blabbering with a couple guys. A third guy rings a bell as familiar standing near her... The white tuft of hair, the rod tube all go in my microprocessor brain... Identity match: Oh its just Norm Issacs... Wait a minute! She's blabberin fishin and Norm just happens by.... Hmmmmmm!!!.... I gotta take part of the blame. I live, eat, sleep, and crap fishing... I think my nice little house bound wife is comming out of the closet and is becomming.... a..... a.... Fisherman! Our seprate worlds are narrowing... I get a lesson in how the boys were rigging mullet too big for the sails there... She rolls right into temp and wind direction discussion. She discusses turbidity... Damn it... She sounds like me! I dunno... I guess I gotta deal with it... I'm not the only blood thirsty fish abuser in the house any more...

Sounds good to me....
I got started on kayak fishing because my wife liked to kayak and sight see... Thought I could fish while she went pakkling about. Now she has come over to my side and is starting to fih from the yak as well. (Only down side is that I had to get her a more stable yak for the fishing, and she wants her own gear to fish with....) Enjoy having more incommon to share.... |

So, what's Mrs. Deep doing for Off The Hook's Cape May Shark Tournament?
Is there room in the rolling tackle box for the whole crew or will you be staying south this year while this rising talent takes to the north! Must be an interesting time at La Quinta Deep. A little sarcasm to rile you up. Actually I think this could shape up well for life once the nest is empty. |
