Hinch Marina Boat Check & Some Advice
We walked the docks this morning. No major problems, everybodies still floating. We did have a couple busted lines and 2 boats hung up on the piling rods.
Busted lines happen, but when a major storm system is expected it is a good idea to check for wear on your boats lines and your neighbors. Luckily, we caught the problems before they got worse. Also, if you tie your boat in a slip that uses steel rods with rings on the pilings, a spring line on each side can prevent your boat from hanging up in extreme high tides. Even better, a spring line that goes from the dock to the ring with a spliced line at the spring point. This completly eliminates possible hang up plus makes tying up alot easier.
