Help with fishing and finding the Gulfstream Natural Pipeline near St. Pete, Florida.
I finally got a boat a few months back and have been fishing the TI Reef and a few spots that was stored in the navigation unit. I have had some success, but I heard there are lots of good fishing up the Gulfstream pipeline, so I want to give it a try. The only thing is I have no clue how to find it. I have looked for it but can't find it with my GPS. I can't find much info online about it either other than its good fishing almost all the time. I don't have any buddies that fish to help me out so I am trying to find it on my own. I have looked to see if I can find gps coordinates on how to get to a spot on the gas line. When I get there, will I know I am there? I am wanting to stay 20 miles to shore because my dad goes with me and he wont go far out. Can anyone help me getting on the start of the gasline from Treasure Island? Maybe some coordinates or waypoints I can store in my GPS would be wonderful,. Thanks!

My Furuno GPS shows the pipeline. I will get them off my boat tomorrow and PM you with some.

It's on most of the current charts by Navionics and Garmin. It's not marked as "FISH HERE" but if you travel around the line that represents the pipeline there are spots to be found. Some other hints for you... if you have not found spots within 1-2 miles of the Treasure Island reef, you ain't using your electronics right. That area is rich with 1'-2' ledges that are holding fish right now. I'm not going to give any specific spots but will tell you 5 miles west of the TI reef there is a good area of ledges as well as 3 miles west of the Mad Beach reef. 60' range out of John's Pass is a pretty good area. Experience comes with time spent on the water. Giving you a GPS # but not telling you the specifics of how to fish it will do you no good. Just suck it up and get out there on the water and look around. Try trolling Yo Zuri Hydro Mag deep diver or Manns Stretch 30's around the crab trap lines in the 30'-40' range. You should find a lot of productive bottom that way.

Thanks Zummie my GPS does not have landmarks of it, the gps is old, but it will have to do me for right now, just the data points suck. Whenever you get a chance to give me a few points I would gladly appreciate it!
