sorry giuys...no mail order brides,no post yachts...nothing like that...
went to tennesee, knoxville,me n penelope were heading down to pick up a 1959 triumph tr3.we've been in contact with the gentleman who owns one, claimed it was restored"end to end",needed nothing, and it had a small bit of orange peel in the paint, header panel, near the headlights...

    well...after driving almost 700 miles...
the vehicle was not as it was decsribed, and not as it looked in the pictures either...it even had a pair of vice grips atached to a bolt under the vehicle,i showed them to the owner...nice huh ??? the vehicle was in rough condition and needless to say,we passed on the deal...now,i just got home...
is it me or what here ???
can some one expalin things to me ???? if someone asks me a question about the condition of something,i tell exactly what it is,no holds barred...i would never waste anyone's time, ever,i don't appriciate having my time wasted either...
exactly why can't people explain thigns and describe things correctly ???
i'm really pissed....and penelope is really dissappointed,i feel terrible...as usual,my faith in humanity has sunk even lower...

    once again,we're looking for a nice british sports car-now,do me a favor,if you're type somethign stupid,like,"hey get a mechanic,you're gonna need one",or something even dumber,save it...ok ??? thank you...we're looking for something nice,tr3,MG A,something along those lines...NO JUNK !!!! accurate description,accurate pictures as well...

Jawz Im checking on a friend of my fathers MG TD if you would be interested. Its alot boxier than an A or TR 3 and not as sporty looking but it was a frame off just being finished when I moved to the Carolinas three years ago. My Dad mentioned it was for sale. Im trying to get details and pics. This was an honest to god complete tear down and restore no part untouched and everything done correctly. He is looking for another one to start. Another of the guys has an Austin Healey 3000 (personally my favorite Brit though Id rather have my dads old 356) that may be available, it also was a frame off, but I know he wants an awful alot for it.

    Cool Cars TR3

I know what you mean, I drove along way one time to look at a car that the guy claimed "had no rust" It had no rust because there was nothing left to rust. I told him that he should have advertised it "rust free" cause I was getting the rust for free.

    TR3's

I have been a long time Brit metal fan, one of my first cars was a 71.5 MGB, built motor, headers, monza exh, it would spin the tires shifting into 3rd. Had a couple Brit bikes and many Land Rovers too.

My old man has even more Brit bikes, about 20, a couple land rovers, has had in the past TR3A, Jag XKE, and a 59 mga that we did a frame off restore on in a tent. The TR was cool, you had to be careful not to hang your arm out the window cause you would drag your knuckles on the ground!

    I have always wanted a TR250 or a 6.

    good luck.

    Funny Story

Reminds me of a funny story, When I sold that B, I had advertised it and priced it fairly, it was red and looked pretty sharp.

A couple in the late 30's early 40's came to look at it. The man clearly saw what he was getting into, but the wife, just had to have it. After he beat me up about the codition and price, I told him what I needed $$ and they left. They came back in about 2 minutes and the man handed me cash.

He got in the car to leave, and in this B you had to push in the clutch to get it to spin the starter fast enought to fire the car (something bad in the clutch, weak starter etc). After I told the guy how to start it, he looked at me and said "you have a bad clutch" I said "No, you have a bad clutch" and walked in the house.

They probably got divorced over that car.
