This is very true. 80-90% of communiction is non verbal.
Body language etc.
IE:

If you in a bar in OC and get to close to someone they may turn around and give you the "look". No words necessary, you move over.

Or
You get to close and someone and they turn around
and smile at you.
Again, no words necessary,
you know you are in Key West.
