Has anyone ever been to harbour island in the bahamas? Where did you stay? Would you recommend it? We will be bringing the boat and just need a little room with 2 beds. Needs to be clean and safe. Don't need anything exceptionally nice.
We are planning on keeping the boat at Harbour Island Marina.
I was married on Harbour Island we stayed in a place called Tingum Village. Small, clean two bedroom villas with kitchen. I can't say that I ever felt "unsafe" anywhere on Harbour Island so can't really speak to that.
If you have a chance to have lunch at Sip Sip - it's a restaurant on the beach owned by long time friends, Julie & Jim. Great food, nice location and run by great folks.
here's a link to a map of Harbour Island, Tingum Village is where Ma Ruby's is. Ma Ruby's is a restaurant right there on the premises and you can see it's not a far walk to the Harbour.
My dad's house is on eleuthera just on the other side of the bay. Harbour island is a cool little place with a lot of little cottages. They are usually pretty high dollar rent. There is Valentine's marina a just down from HI yacht club. Valentine's has a few condos that they rent if you want to stay there and be close to the boat. Check out Gusty's a cool little bar that sits out on a little bluff. Cool to go there when they open and watch the sunset. It can get pretty lively after the sun goes down. When are you taking the boat over?
Don't forget your camera. Girls bank has been a favorite lately for the supermodels. Sports illustrated shot the ultimate all star supermodel reunion there a year or so ago.
